Screen cracks at first drop in case

The main reason for buying was to get a tablet made for kids that would be durable to deal with a 4 yr old handling it. Needless to say it lasted 3 days . the screen cracked on the first drop in its case. While it was in operation the pre loaded apps would take forever to load after he tapped the icon prompting him to repeatedly tap the screen and alert me every few minutes.

Love this, perfect for the grandkids. I have purchased three now and the kids love them!

I got this tablet for my two year old daughter over my other option, which was a Samsung galaxy tablet. Thinking that this PBS tablet was absolutely perfect for her, as she could watch all her favorite PBS shows and play all of the pre loaded games. As for safety I liked that i was able to control which apps she can or cannot use. And I also liked that it was an android system so I could download kids youtube (which was a must.) but also if I needed/wanted to i could use it as a regular tablet in parent mode. Well.... it was a HUGE mistake! The tablet as a whole ran extremely slow, even in wifi. Some of the loaded PBS videos would not load and it would say there was some type of error. And when she would TRY to play the games it really wasnt possible due to the lag i guess you could say. It was almost like the characters in the games were in extreme slow mode. While the concept of this tablet is awesome! I just wish it ran smoother. The extreme slowness of it was my main issue, and the "errors" that kept popping up for some reason. It was brand new there should have not been any errors...or slowness. I do not prefer this tablet.

    Eh.. depends

Ok so it's great if you're using it ONLY as a tablet for your kids to watch pbs shows and play the preloaded games WHILE you're at home connected to the WiFi. Purchased it thinking we could cast or hook it up with an HDMI to the tv so our 3yr old doesn't have a screen so close to his eyes. However, there's no way of connecting it to the tv because the cast apps are "not compatible with this device" and there's no HDMI port. There's a USB but you can only move files from a computer to or from. Also it can run really slow even just playing games and we haven't added any apps on to it. Would I recommend.... No not really because you can buy a cheaper tablet and download the same things for free and still be able to treat it like a normal tablet.

I couldn't find any good reviews before I bought because it's only for a 2 yr old. However sometimes she manages to get out of the Kids Mode even though the parent password is set. Or you sometimes get any error that an app is not approved for Kids Mode even though I have already aporoved it. It does freeze sometimes which is weird because it was brand new out of the box, so I didn't expect to have that problem for a while. Considering that it is also a full functioning tablet, it definitely gets a thumbs down. I always have to check in on her even in Kids Mode just make sure everything is working properly and she's not getting frustrated because sometimes it has a mind of it's own and spontaneously force closes apps. And everytime she turned it on, I kept getting an email to activate the tablet, even though I have already done it, SEVERAL TIMES. Keep in mind, it is BRAND NEW, manufactured in August 2016 running Android 6.0 so it's definitely dissapointing in some areas. And the resolution sucks. You have to hold it a certain way to see the screen clearly without any weird glare. There's other tablets out there that's worth a shot.

    Fun and educational

We had issues with the initial parental log on and email confirmation. Other than that it’s a fun and educational tablet for a 6 year old.

    PBs tablets customer service issues

PURCHASED 2 of the pbs kids tablets for grandkids one lasted 4 months screen shattered. The other after 8 months can't be used. If you waste your money save your receipt until it for sure is inoperable. Because if you ever need to reset it you will need to activate it all over again. The company will NOT help you. I normally don't write reviews but after dealing with the company that makes these telling me they can't help me if I no longer have a receipt from 8 months ago.

Recieved product yesterday. Worked fine in Android tablet mode. But once i set it up for my child's use play mode never functioned, at all. No way for me to put it back on the other mode. Returning a.s.a.p.

    Totally bummed

Ordered 2 of these for xmas for my kids. You can not have two tablets registered tothe same email address so I had to use my mothers email for the second tablet. One broke within the first week, the second one is falling apart. They freeze. They do not stay locked in kids mode. No easy access to kids mode from home screen. It's hard for them to get back to home screen. Don't let them use it in the car because you can't drive and fix tablet for them every two minutes. Too many bugs to list. Totally bummed!

    Bad battery bad interface

Terrible device. The battery was bad day one and just kept getting worse. It now dies after 15 minutes of use. Also the kids protected mode struggles with any third party apps, not allowing them to function at all in the kids safe mode. After 5 months of light use (averaging less than 15 minutes a day) it is unusable. When I tried to contact PBS about the product they said they don't support it at all, while also being unable to direct me to the vendor that produced the item.
