  • A. look on the bag it is stored in. I was just at walmart looking for this same tent and most of the tents show the # of people it holds using icons of sleeping bags, and some also show how many and what size air mattress they hold.

  • A. Yes but you'll find it raise you higher up in the tent and you'll hit the sides of the tent unless you position it right in the middle which still your hit the back of the tent but you will have about 6 inches on both sides of the mattress between the tent.

  • A. I am 6 feet tall and 160 pounds. Alone I sleep diagonally. It could fit two people if you were in love, but one person with gear is comfortable. A queen size? It is 7 x 7, I do not think so ....you would wind up losing your balance falling and breaking a pole or something...air mattress?? come on...be rugged..you can do it!!

what is the size packed?

  • A. Almost every tent you buy comes with the tent, the poles, the correct number of stakes, and some have a rainflyroof cover for tents with ventilated sides stores only tent stakes on the side in case you lose one, break one, or want more heavy duty one, instead of the plastic ones some come with.

  • A. The tent comes with four small stakes, however it DOES NOT come with any stake out line...I would purchase stake out line from an outdoor shop for a couple of bucks...if you are just backyard camping or similiar you will not need to use the stakes. I set up on cement and never use them. In the woods I did but missed having proper line to stake out.. These stakes are pretty light weight.

It lists shipping weight as 5.5 pounds. I was wondering what the carrying weight was. Also, how waterproof is it?

  • A. As far as weight goes it is very very light. i'd say most likely in 3 to 4 pound range. Now waterproof it is not!! I set this up and sprayed water on it with hose and leaked everywhere. So dry nite camping tent only. maybe a heavy dew.

Don't get me wrong. For $25 it is worth it. It is big enough for two people and a couple of backpacks and that is it. Thin walled and will probably only last the year, but it kept out the buggies and shaded us from the sun. The are other comments about rain getting in. We had rain and some did get in, but I think that it was from under the rain fly and not the seals. Of course, putting some seam sealant spray on could not hurt. I think that I did not have the rain fly pulled down enough and it just simply came in under the rain fly. I almost always place a ground tarp AND a roof tarp over my tents. It keeps rocks and stuff from poking up through the bottom of the tent AND ads extra shade to the tent to help keep it cooler. Very quick to assemble and put up. My young son figured it out easily and helped me assemble and disassemble it.

Mine had some seem leaks during first rain, but since I tested this tent before using it camping ,this wasnt an issue. Buying some Seem leak spray fixed my problem ,and you should test your tent before using it. For the price, this tent was what I expected. Even high end tents can get seem leaks, so no biggie.

I am a homeless student who has been taking this tent out of my storage unit and pitching it nightly on cement some 9 months now. I have also pitched it a couple of weeks in the woods. This is some hard use. After 9 months I cracked a pole and shortly after the line in one of the poles broke. The carrying case also has some light tears but is still basically sound. Does this sound bad? I wouldn't think so. I am positive that the use that I have put this tent through is the equivalent of hiking 9 months with it. I recently bought another. Some more: 1. I always pitch this tent with a tarp underneath. I have a plastic tarp which I purchased from Walmart which is about 1 foot wider and 2 feet longer than the tent itself. This is very important if you pitch on concrete or in the woods. 2. The tent holds up very well under fairly hard rain but does not handle the wind very well. If I was pitching this while hiking I would stake it out with line. 3. I have had this tent out in weather from 14 degrees F to 100 Degrees F and it has been great but I usually will seek some type of overhead if it is raining. Not because the tent cant handle but because I prefer not to have the damp feeling that comes with a tent that is even wet on the outside. 4. The tent breathes very well and I would Glue the outer seams. I did not. But it is always recommended. 5. When you put this tent up or take it down do not let some idiot rush you. Break and make camp as if this tent is your life. I have seen tents at the $75 to $150 level that are not much better than this. The real jump is in the very high end and I have had one of those to. Even a $400.00 tent needs to be handled with care. On the other hand you will not cry if you break a pole on a tent around $20.00 or so. 6. The new style carry case is great and will fit in a pack, also seems to be better water proofing. 7. When you put the tent up walking on it is fine but try and stay off the netting. 8. Remember to use a tarp 9. I love this tent 10. Did I say I love this tent? Oh yeah. Make sure you stake out if winds - ANY wind expected. I still have my older tent and will not throw it away. I will repair the pole and store it. A wonderful tent my compliments to the manufacturer.

Can't stay dry

I've used this twice, once in heavy rain, once in heavy rain. BOTH times it was completely soaked. Its been seam sealed, and even had a tarp over it one of the two times. If you are camping in a completely dry climate, its a tent. As far as staying dry, you'd be better off hanging a tarp and sleeping under it. If a tent to you means moderate protection from the elements, look elsewhere.
