Nice smaller machete

More of a knife than a machete. Really Big knife. Arrived sharp out of the package. Nice sheath. Don't know about the fire starter. I liked it enough to buy a second one after permanent loan to daughter. Sheath is well made and does a good job securing the tool. Should be a useful camping blade, especially for the price.

Impressed

I've owned several machetes but never one this size. Was not expecting it to compete with the other ones, but it can and did. Sheath is nicely put together, and thick enough to prevent accidental injury. It also has two methods of attachment, belt loop and a button clasp. Handle feels nice and absorbs the shock. Blade has a good balance of weight and limited flexibility. Ozark Trail thought ahead and made sure there is a guard to prevent slipping while using the saw tooth back. (It might seem like a no brainer, but a lot of machetes with saws on the back have no such guard, especially when it was a newer idea.) The fire starter was just a bonus, and works like a fire starter. Overall I am beyond impressed by this machete.

Great bday present for men

This is a great tool for anyone who likes being outdoors. My husband hasn't tried to start a fire with it yet, but I'm sure it works. It's easy to hold, sharp, multi use. He loves it. I bought it as part of his bday present and it was perfect.
