Being nomadic, we are forced to think outside of the box on much of our standard equipment that we keep on hand, with weight, functionality, durability and longevity of purpose. The Outdoor Products Packable Daypack fulfills all of these with ease, and was so impressive that we bought two of them, one in black, another in purple (although I call it plum). The pack is about 15 liters of storage, and has a smaller compartment on the top that will hold something about the size of a full wallet quite easily. I use it in my current employment to hold a plethora of items including my sunflower seeds, binoculars, gloves, a notebook, usually an extra shirt and towel for the occasional rain-shower, lotion, medicine, and sometimes an additional water bottle. While this pack is not waterproof, it is water-resistant to a very high degree, and we have tested this in several rainstorms and showers. If you have sensitive items, such as papers, I would advise these be placed inside a waterproof bag, such as a freezer bag. For simple generic use, it is a very good bag. They have withstood interior spills, go through the laundry like a champ, and have survived placement on rock, dirt, trees, and other rough surfaces without and ripping or tearing. The price point was low for this, less than $15 dollars at Walmart, and I got them both on sale for even less than that. This pack is everything Outdoor Products says that it is, and more.
