Works great!!
I've been using the Shedmonster for 2 weeks and I can honestly say it DOES help with constantly shedding furballs. I have 3 shorthair and 2 long-haired cats so hair floating around is a huge issue even with regular brushing. The Shedmonster used in conjunction with their regular daily brushing has cut down the amount of furclumps in my vacuum cleaner see through canister by at least 50% over this past week. At first I thought it wouldn't be necessary to use on the shorthair kids but after the first swipe I was amazed(and disgusted, ick!) with how much fuzz hair came off of each one- that I didn't even realize was there! The added benefit is they all LOVE when I use it on them, purring their fool heads off in delight. I know this will continue to be a favorite tool to use in the neverending battle with cat hair. Could not even be used as a decent paper weight.
Tried to use this on three Dobermans with medium length hair, couldn't grasp a single hair. Used it on the barn cat who has ample hair and it couldn't even reach through the hair, muchless de-shedd anything. Finally used it on some rabbits, which was the intended subject for this "tool" and surprise it didn't work on them either. We watched the video's, read the instructions, spun in circles three times, wiggled our noses, we even re-watch the instructional video's while listening to the dark side of the moon album backwards and NOTHING WORKED!

A must have!

This thing is INCREDIBLE. Before I used this I mostly “blamed” our dog for the animal fur I'm constantly cleaning all over the house but I now realize our cat is just as much, if not more, to blame than her! The photo I have attached is after just one quick session! It is crazy to think how much fur I saved from being left on our rugs and sofas after just that one use! Highly recommend! Great product

I got this a few days ago and tried it on my 4 cats and my big dog. It works amazing! It get so much hair in just a few brushes. Its definitely a god send and will save my house from being covered in fur. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

A great solution for cat hair

Finally something to help the shedding! This tool takes off so much excess fur at once. it helps the cats keep from itching all day and leaving fur all over the house. One swipe with this tool takes off enough fur to make a cotton ball (if you're cat is shedding badly, if they are not big shedders you won't get as much fur off). This tool has been a life saver!

It Works

Sometimes the cheaper version of a product is cheaper for a reason. I bought this because I didn't want to pay so much for this kind of tool and because the reviews were good. Yes, I go by TuckerTheDog, but I have 5 cats, so I was able to give the ShedMonster a real workout. The tool feels substantial and the blades are nice and sharp. It is angled at the point where it touches the cat's skin so it won't cut anything but fur. Result...it works. Cats like it. Ended up with enough cat fur to knit a sweater.

1. Yes this tool holds the hair in the teeth of the tool.
by led4
2. If you run through slowly it should hold most of the hair until you need to brush it off in the trash.
by ChewieMooie
3. One swipe down my cat, I remove the fur or it would be all over the place...its easier to remove the fur from this as it it metal, unlike a regular "brush".
by CritterMom1
4. It does to an extent, once the come blades get too full ~ a half inch or so of hair thick some starts coming off on the cat. But if you clean as you brush you should have NO problem. At least I didn't!!
by WeSayWhatWeSay
5. Yes.
by DoesNotMatter
6. Yes. You have to remove it after you collect enough hair.
by strykker31
7. Yes, it holds it until you pull it off, which is very easily done. You do have to do this every few strokes because it gets so much of it out.
by mothershipto6
8. Only whatever comes off as you comb. But the hair is easily removable from the tool.
by marfern1
9. Yes, it does holds the cat hair sometimes when you get to the bottom of your cat near the tail hair may fall out the brush. However, it rarely happens just keep cleaning the brush out while you brush.
by MeVee
10. Not really. It does hold a little, but not enough, I think. I found it best to use it in combination with a regular wire pet brush that I already had - the brush would collect all the loose hairs that were coming out. (Off of my cat, and my carpet!) But even if you don't, the fur just falls to the ground around your pet, easy to sweep or vacuum or even just pick up.

11. Yes, it grabs the cat hair. You constantly have to pull the hair off though. Pretty much brush, remove hair, brush, etc.

1. That is a very good question. I don't wash mine. I just clean it with my hands.
by DoesNotMatter
2. yes but not worth buying i threw it out
by GreekJerseyGirl
3. Good question. I live near the beach where everything that isn't plastic or concrete will rust, erode, or get coated with organic goo. The ShedMonster seems to be OK with rinsing in tap water (it really doesn't get dirty), but I make sure it is dry and keep it inside in a closet. Time will tell.
by Geographos
4. If you do use soap and water, make sure you dry it or you may damage the metal material.I use rubbing alcohol to clean mine.
by led4
5. I have rinsed it with luke warm water and it hasn't rusted yet and I've had it for a while.
by Awi27
6. It comes with full instructions on how to clean it.
by QuetaDe
7. Yes you can, I just don't think it works as good as everyone says it does.

1. Dont waste your money, i threw this out.
by GreekJerseyGirl
2. My experience with a long-haired dog is that this might not be a good tool for that purpose. This tool (and other expensive analogs) do not appear to be designed for cutting through matted hair as far as I can tell. Perhaps others have direct experience.
by Geographos
3. It sounds like Blue's problem is rather severe. I would recommend just cutting the mats off. He may look a bit odd for a while, but it would be a lot less painful for both of you.
by mothershipto6
4. I bought the one for my cat. It works great and she loves it when I brush her with it!
by QuetaDe
5. Yes that's why I bought this. My cat had a lot of mats and this took them out quite easily
by Candlepmo
6. You wrote this quite awhile ago but I will still give my experience. My cat had a huge mat of fur on chest. Way too close to the skin to even consider cutting off. I went over several times, making sure it wasn't hurting her in any way and to my amazement the mat came off painlessly. If you have lots of mats the only thing to do is try gently to tackle them --it will take multiple passes. I can't cut them off without worrying about cutting skin but this de shedder worked great If it hurts your cat have a vet shave them off and then try to keep the cat brushed. Luckily this product worked for me and I will try and keep her brushed.
