    Because this wok has welded handles that are not removable and the handles have plastic that is ALSO NOT REMOVABLE this wok MUST be seasoned on a STOVE TOP. NO OVENS!!! This is of course harder for those of us with Electric/Induction stoves because the curves make it hard to keep reach on a flat surface. Solution is either put it on a grill burner or use a kitchen safe blowtorch. This is especially necessary to reach around the HANDLES, which must be seasoned too.

    Nice wok for the money

    I bought this to take in my RV. I seasoned it and used it for the first time last night. Seasoning it was a little tricky as the U shaped handle gets very hot and the plastic can start melting, so be careful. The long handle stays cool enough though. Once seasoned, I made some stirfry and the wok performed great. I deducted one star for the fact that I am not sure how well the handles will hold up, especially the U-shaped one as it came a little loose and there's no way to tighten it.

    Starts rusting if you dont season it all the time

    The wok starts rusting everytime we wash it.although the size is good for stirfry ect the rusting is very annoying

    I'm taking an Art of Stir-fry class on and bought this wok for my class. It's heavy and well made which is what you want for cooking on super high heat. I cooked KUNG PAO CHICKEN after seasoning my wok and it was heaven! My best wok ever! Here are the instructions on how to season a wok. DIRECTIONS- Scrub the inside and outside of a 14-inch (35.5- cm) flat-bottomed carbon-steel wok with hot water, using a stainless-steel scrubber and liquid dish-washing soap. Rinse with hot water. Dry the wok on a burner over low heat for 1 to 2 minutes until no water droplets are visible. Open the windows and turn the exhaust fan on high speed. Heat the wok over high heat until a bead of water vaporizes within 1 or 2 seconds of contact. The bottom of the wok will probably darken. Do not be alarmed. Swirl in the oil and add the Chinese chives (about 8 oz. Reduce the heat to medium and stir-fry for 15 to 20 minutes, pushing mixture up sides of the wok to the edge. As you stir-fry, the wok may become mottled and discolored. If the mixture becomes dry, add an additional tablespoon or two of oil. Remove the wok from the heat and allow it to cool. Discard the chives. Wash the wok with hot water, using a sponge but no liquid soap. Rinse and then dry the wok on a burner over low heat for 1 to 2 minutes to make sure it is totally dry. The wok is seasoned and ready for cooking.

    I bought this as a gift. I have had mine for several years and love it. Great price for what you get. I ordered this online because the store by me only has the light weight ones. Carbon steel is the way to go, much more substantial. The extra handle is a big help especially when the wok is full of stir fry. I made sure I seasoned it well before using, instructions on how to season can be found online.

    i read various reviews and determined this was heavy gauge steel and surely the best bang for the buck.i suggest you watch youtube vids on 'seasoning a wok' as the best way to do it.i tried to do as instructed on the woks instruction guide but i wished i had not done the oil part until very,very late in the pan scorching need a lot of heat to blue it before even thinking about lightly careful to not smoke the handles during seasoning.

    Great value!! Season your wok before use. I had to open all the windows while seasoning. Best if you can do it outside! I will probably buy another one for a gift.
