Excellent product.

I ordered this item and received very quick delivery even during the Holidays. There was a $15 rebate advertised. When I tried to collect the rebate I found it had expired before I ordered my toothbrush, even though it was still advertised with the item. I notice it is still being advertised on the product rating request. That is not good business in my opinion.

Why Spend More

When I decided to buy an electric toothbrush, I began looking at the reviews and of course came across the ones that offered alot of bells and whistles. Then I came across thousands of reviews for this product( Oral-B precision1000 ) True it's an older model and true it does not have many of the bells and whistles, but if your looking for a good electric toothbrush with good scrubbing power, then look no further. For the money, I think this is all aperson really needs. The only thing I did not like is the cost of replacement brushes. They can run $18/3pack. My next project is finding them cheaper

Wonderful Product!

This is a basic electric toothbrush, which is just what I wanted. If you want more bells and whistles, look at other more expensive models. This model, however, seems to do it all. I like the simplicity of this brush and it accomodates other types of brush heads, i.e., floss action, sensitive, etc. The brush is very easy to use, though it may take a few days to get get used to it. Remember, this brush does the work for you! No need to move it back and forth. The small round head is cup-shaped so it covers each surface of the tooth very well. The motor will skip a little to let you know it's time to move on to another section of your mouth. The instructions are very clear on how to use the brush. Be sure not to use too much pressure! Simply move the brush head from tooth to tooth and let it do its work. For the first few days, your gums may be a little tender and you may notice some slight bleeding, but this is normal. In no time, you'll actually enjoy the sensation of the brush. And the feeling when you're done? Like you just walked out of the dentist's office!

Excellent toothbrush!

I did some research in getting an electric toothbrush. The rotating head (vs. vibrating or back and forth-type rotation) was the winner as it mimics how the dental hygienst cleanses your teeth at check-ups. The timer makes you aware of when to switch to a new quadrant of your mouth. I also did the math and found that you should spend 4 seconds on each tooth going from front, back and chewing surface. You don't need to put pressure because just putting it on your tooth allows it to "cup" your tooth for cleaning. I only paid $30 when it was on sale here, which is an AMAZING deal! My only complaint with this is that you end up getting a lot of saliva built-up (gross I know) which thins out your toothpaste. I ended up just opening my mouth and leaning over the sink to allow the excess to get out. But overall, I am extremely happy with this brush.

Doctor Recommended

After a dental visit where two small cavities were discovered, I purchased this Oral B electric toothbrush upon my dentist's recommendation. The store was out of the 4000 so I opted for this 1000 model instead. It is a basic Oral B without the bells & whistles of the pricier models. It does have the very brief hesitation feature that indicates when it's time to change quarter sections of your mouth when brushing. That's really all you need. It does rattle your teeth, but that's to be expected and you get used to it. Just don't press too hard. It seems to do the job well and teeth feel clean after use.
