No cavities for 10 years
This is a replacement for a still working 10 yr old Oral b toothbrush. I was encouraged by my dental hygienist to try one of the tooth brushes. Using these along with flossing has made a overwhelming difference for me in cleaning my teeth at the gum line and no excuses for not brushing right and well. I found there is a difference between brushing your teeth and really brushing your teeth. All I can say is pay now or pay later. This investment has more than paid for itself over and over. I am truly THANKFUL for this technology. One of the reasons for the longevity is when my toothbrush needs recharging I turn it on and let it run completely down then recharge. Hope this encourages and helps someone!

Rechargeable battery not replaceable! Bad design
This product is designed to last less than 2 years. The battery is of a poor quality and the packaging of the brush does not allow changing the battery. Thus the design is meant to make you buy a new brush every 1-2 years. So not only do you have to pay lots for replacement brush heads, but you have to buy a completely new unit because the rechargeable battery in the unit wears out. So instead of just replacing a $2 battery, you pollute the environment and waste money to make oralB richer.

Excellent product.

I ordered this item and received very quick delivery even during the Holidays. There was a $15 rebate advertised. When I tried to collect the rebate I found it had expired before I ordered my toothbrush, even though it was still advertised with the item. I notice it is still being advertised on the product rating request. That is not good business in my opinion.

Wonderful Product!

This is a basic electric toothbrush, which is just what I wanted. If you want more bells and whistles, look at other more expensive models. This model, however, seems to do it all. I like the simplicity of this brush and it accomodates other types of brush heads, i.e., floss action, sensitive, etc. The brush is very easy to use, though it may take a few days to get get used to it. Remember, this brush does the work for you! No need to move it back and forth. The small round head is cup-shaped so it covers each surface of the tooth very well. The motor will skip a little to let you know it's time to move on to another section of your mouth. The instructions are very clear on how to use the brush. Be sure not to use too much pressure! Simply move the brush head from tooth to tooth and let it do its work. For the first few days, your gums may be a little tender and you may notice some slight bleeding, but this is normal. In no time, you'll actually enjoy the sensation of the brush. And the feeling when you're done? Like you just walked out of the dentist's office!

Oral B 1000

This is my second Oral electric toothbrush. My first one lasted me almost 20 years before it just quit taking a charge. So far so good with this toothbrush. This brush is a little different from my last one as it momentarily stops every thirty seconds or so to tell you to move to another spot. At first I thought this toothbrush was defective but it is designed to do just that. Let you know it is time to move on. A little disconcerting but I can live with that. Also the new brush that came with this toothbrush is a little on the hard side for me and my mouth but I just replaced it with my old brush with the softer bristles. I mention this for the folks who have sensitive teeth and gums. You will need to buy a brush with softer bristles right off the bat. All in all, A very good buy that I highly recommend!!!!!

Fantastic price for a Wonderful product!

I have used Oral B products for many, many years and have finally worn out my last Oral B electric brush. This product is smaller and lighter than the previous "900" model. Love it, Love it! I also love Walmart! Ordering on line and having the in store pick up is the best of both worlds! Thanks Walmart!!

Shouldn't have waited...

It took a long time to convince me to try an electric toothbrush and I am sorry I waited. Not only do I feel like it improves how clean my teeth are, I actually had my hygienist ask if I had switched based on my gum health. It was a great compliment! I also have invisalign currently and I found that this brush definitely cleans the liners much more quickly and thoroughly than a manual brush. If you are still on the fence about trying out an electric toothbrush I would definitely recommend this as 1st purchase.

1. it sorta vibrates.... not circle. i suppose you could say it does 1/4 turns.
by fourdgwag
2. The Oral-B spins in a circle to get up under the gum where plaque likes to hide. Ultasonic action is what you are getting.
by goosewoman
3. As Oral-B explained it to me when I asked, it spins back and forth very rapidly (not round and round in a complete circle), AND, starting with the 1000 model, it "pulsates" - vibrates very rapidly in and out, toward and away from your teeth - to better clean between the teeth and along the gum line.
by KSGranny5
4. It vibrates back and forth through maybe 1/4 turn
by Tropicseed
5. It spins in a circle
by ChristyB21
6. Spins. (Back and forth I believe)
by jpoep
7. It spins in a complete circle, but so fast it's hard to see, also pulsates..
by Chelliep
8. It spins back and forth, but not in a complete circle. I can't figure how many degrees it rotates back and forth, but it's probably less than 45 degrees each direction. Spinning back and forth is more like the recommended way we're supposed to brush our teeth.
by t2000kwt
9. It spins in a complete circular motion unlike some of the battery operated ones that just move back and forth.
by TenHigh
10. Hi! It does both! It pulsates and oscilate (moves back and forth). Happy brushing! Kim
by TheOral-B-Team
11. Mine just kinda vibrates.
by THEWOMAN836201
12. The head spins but the 1000 version advertises that the brush has a simaltanious side to side motion. I have not used it yet.
by Yivvy
13. yes it does.

1. Yes, the heads are detachable, but I don't believe this tooth brush is designed to have the brush heads constantly being taken on and off. So it may wear.
by NicknameJo
2. yes, one can use additional brush head pieces. i also have an older oral B rechargeable toothbrush and can recharge the older stems on this newer charger.
by fourdgwag
3. yep
by 1donniedo
4. Sure, the heads come with different color rings for identification. It's very easy to change the head, you would just need somewhere to keep the extras safely. The instruction sheet shows a head holder that snaps on to the base, but my toothbrush did not come with this.
by Tropicseed
5. Yes, of course. That's why I liked my old Braun with the 3 brush holder/charger. I use the soft brush in the morning and the floss brush and the brush style it came with in the evening.. The brush, you may notice, comes with different colored rings which you place over the bottom of the brush handle where you push it into the metal stick on the top of the base..choose one color for you and another color for your husband to keep them straight.
by Chelliep
6. Yes. The headpiece can be detached and replaced, but you will need to buy the add'l headpieces. (there are coupons in the box.)
by rockydawg
7. Hi. Yes, you can change the brush heads each time you use it. Thanks for asking! Kim
by TheOral-B-Team
8. As many brush heads as you have users.
by reddyfeet
9. The brush heads come with different colored rings, so yes, you can change the brush heads and use one unit.
by slinkyk81
10. Yes, it is easy to replace one head with another.
by ProfessorNC
11. yes, you can buy additional brush heads and use the different color bands to identify which one belongs to who.
by pailface70
12. Sure. Purchase additional brush heads, remove the old and replace with the other.

1. it does hit your teeth. i have older rechargeable toothbrushes that i can charge on this new charger and thy aren't as abrasive as this newer brush. if you do choose to buy one, i would purchase a more expensive model as they seem to be smoother.
by fourdgwag
2. Hold your Oral-B firmly with light pressure against your teeth. Do one tooth at a time and let the brush do the work.
by goosewoman
3. There is some vibration, but it does not knock at all, just buzzes against your teeth.
by Tropicseed
4. I haven't noticed anything like that. Maybe your last brush was damaged in some way.
by Needsabed
5. They spin so fast now that you do need to hold it more firmly against your teeth or it will knock a little.
by jpoep
6. This model is fine.. the Vitality model was rough according to my husband..now, make sure you don't press it too hard into your teeth..my husband does this and he uses up brush heads very fast. I'm hoping he learns to just GLIDE the brush GENTLY over the teeth.. not press the brush into the teeth like you do with a manual brush.
by Chelliep
7. This one claimed it will automatically stop if you brush/press too hard against your teeth. Hope this help.
by rockydawg
8. This one is gentle. There are actually 3 settings. I use the default setting but there is one for sensitive teeth and one for whitening also. But the default setting does not knock against my teeth. My wife hasn't complained, either. If you're not using Oral B branded replacement heads, that may be the reason for the rough treatment of your teeth. But I believe you just got a bad one.
by t2000kwt
9. Hi Bill. This brush should not knock against your teeth at all. I recommend using it with the Sensitive Brush Head. This brush head provides a gentle brushing experience and is ideal for sensitive teeth and gums. It has extra-soft bristles that are gentle on teeth and gums. I would recommend checking with your dentist to for recommendations as well. Thanks, Ryan
by TheOral-B-Team
10. Not at all -- it's completely smooth. I'm not sure what you mean by 'hits my teeth so hard'. I wouldn't describe any part of the brushing hitting my teeth hard. I love it--it's easier, faster and much cleaner than you can ever do manually. I wouldn't brush any other way. They tripled the price, but it's still worth it--you can't beat the quality & durability of Oral-B. (Don't be tempted to buy a cheap off-brand.) If the brush was too hard, you can buy sensitive brush heads, which are softer. I would try it again. If you still don't like it, you can always return it.
by Scoopley
11. I find the brushing to be smooth. If you put too much pressure on the brush head, it will stop moving. It doesn't 'hit' my teeth at all. It just goes where I put it. :)
by slinkyk81
12. very smooth not rough, doesn't take off on you. makes your teeth feel like you just left the dentist office.
