I have a HUGE historical home and it is very expensive to heat the entire house even though I have an upstairs and downstairs zone for the central heat and a/c. I bought FIVE of these heaters in total...after trying two and finding they worked so well. You don't have the risk of fire, like you do with the coil heaters and they heat a good size room quickly. They use so very little electricity - you won't notice any increase in your power bill! Don't waste your money on more expensive products. These are EXCELLENT and very inexpensive.

I have used two of these little portable heaters for a couple of years & am ordering two more today. They create [absolutely silent] ambient heat, are lightweight (perhaps 10 pounds?), and are easily transportable from one room to another. I use these instead of the more expensive-to-operate baseboard electrical heating units in our home. Heater features include a dial with three temperature options and a second dial to adjust temperature up or down, accordingly. These heaters are perfect for heating small areas (like near someone's sitting area) or larger room areas, depending on how you adjust the temperature gauges. I highly recommend this product if you are looking for inexpensive effective portable heating!

My gas furnace went out on December 18th and I bought this little heater on the 20th,,,I chose this heater because it is not gosh awful expensive to run and the radiant heat does not dry the air which is an added benefit to the health of my macaws, furthermore, I put a little fan behind it and was quite surprised when I woke up the first night I had the unit to being to hot at 75 degrees,,,,I cannot say enough for this little gem, it's worth the price and does a great job heating my open concept living room dining room and kitchen,,,I even bought a 2nd to replace the expensive infrared heater I have,,,,my biggest piece of advice is be aware it works by radiating to if you have an open space just throw a fan behind it to circulate the air,,,,,and for my macaw I throw a wet sponge under the unit for moisture, lastly the floor does get a little warm but I just placed it on some scrap construction boards I had left over from a home project,,,easy peasy :)

I purchased 2 of these heaters after my contractor walked off and left me with a incomplete driveway and no access to get LP for heat. After reading some of the reviews which some are not good, I decided to give them a try. I hope that this helps anyone with doubt. I put one in my living room, turned it to III/max for a day to get the walls warm then turned it back to II and adjusted the knob in between max and medium. I do have a ceiling fan so it does circulate down the hallway. I put the other in the kitchen/dining combo which also has a bedroom off of that. I did the same with the one in the living room. I am heating 756 sq. foot of living space with these 2 heaters at the comfort that I am use to being in. I did find, and I did not like, was how warm the carpet was getting, so having left over backer board from another project I had done, I cut 2 14"X14" squares to put under the heaters. Well, that solved the problem! I highly recommend these heaters, they are doing the trick for me at temps in the low 20's. Oh! One other thing, do read the cautions, these heaters get very hot.

I am looking to heat a place that is a little over 600 sq feet and would like something that will keep it warm without making me say OUCH when I get my power bill

    • A. I suppose it would depend on how high you turn it up. There are 3 power levels. If you just kept it on low all the time, or as needed, it might not be as big a bill. You'd have to check your electric bill to know how much you are charged for wattage. This radiator is designed for a large room, but I have used them in my smaller bedrooms also - on low. They do take a while to heat up, but the heat provided once they are warm is terrific.

    • A. Don't know the answer as to what you were looking at but most are oil filled and you really don't have to worry about that because you will never have to deal with it. They're oil filled and sealed for ever. As far as your electric bill goes you have to use the unit smartly as a space heater and it will not break your bank. Buy an inexpensive Pelonis with manual switching, no programmable led/lcd unit, and connect it to a 20A timer. Have it come on an hour before you're going to use the room and have it go off when you generally leave the room. I heat about 600sq ft with vaulted ceilings and skylights and very cozy. If you never leave the space forget the timer, let the unit run on high to heat the space up and then adjust the power and temp settings to your needs. Hope this helps.
