After reading reviews on this product, I was a little nervous. But after trying out the product I was relieved! It works quickly and well with capacity and quality as expected. Other reviews mentioned that there were issues with the door magnetic closure, but the model I received had a convenient latch closure. The other potential issue I read about was that the pot flaps were very flimsy and allowed a lot of kernels to blow out. I didn't find that to be the case at all. I found that the number of unpopped kernels was less than in the average bag of microwave popcorn. Overall, I was thrilled with the popper and its retro feel. It was easy to assemble and begin using. Additionally, it lived up to the description given and the included measuring cups were very convenient. The only issue I had was that it was confusing to attach the outside handle to the pot, as it screws in and can come unscrewed during operation. But, the popper is definitely worth the price and is a great novelty gift!

We received our first popcorn machine for Christmas. The kids were beyond excited until realizing upon opening that the plastic door was broken and the roof of the inside of the compartment was completely cracked and busted through. We went to exchange it to the original store (Shopko) and they were out of stock. We decided to order the same one for the same price from Walmart for the free shipping on site to store. We waited a week to finally get it only to find, once again, that it was broken, too! This time there were no grooves for the handle to screw into and, just like the last time, the roof of the inside compartment was cracked and busted completely through! Now I am left having to return another faulty popper. My sister in law bought one the same time as the first one I purchased and hers was fine and she was even happy with it. I guess cross your fingers you don't get a busted popper then you'll be fine. Overall it's a cheap product and you get what you pay for in this case.

MY REVIEW -- Some things I dont like about it - I wish it was a little taller so that it would be easier to get the popcorn out, could use a kernal catcher, needs a scoop to get popcorn, I also think I am going to put a magnet on the door so that it will stay closed - it closes hard, bottom door - cant open unless you open the top door - hmmm maybe I will get a magnet for that too - this way I can get popcorn out while its popping and then close it without opening the door while the popcorn is popping. Wastes a lot of popcorn - kernels pop out instead of popping... Hard to clean. Would be nice to have somewhere to put butter to melt for popcorn. This is not the popcorn popper you want if you plan to use it at an office or for a party. I bought 2 one for the office and one for home - I have already used them but if I could I would return them to get bigger ones. Likes - This is great for a young adult going off to college. Makes just enough for 1 person. Popcorn taste great - not oily. Very quick popping.

I bought 3 of these. One for myself and one for my kids/grand kids for Christmas :-) So far I have found mine to be easy to use and clean after use. Putting foil on the bottom is a big help in the cleanup process. I also found that preheating for about 6 minutes is better, too, more of the kernels popped opposed to the first time I made it and had a lot of unpopped kernels. I think I will try what the last reviewer said, and only add a couple of kernels until they pop, then add the rest.....Good Idea, Thank You :-) I also read one review that said it doesn't make a lot, but I followed the directions only using 1/4 of a cup of kernels, and I had two good size bowls, plus a bit left over in the bottom for and half bowl, which was more than enough for two people. If you want the large movie size buckets, your going to have to make a few batches. All in all this is a good machine for the price, and it does smell like the theater when it's popping.

Love love this machine. I got this for a family Holiday present and WOW. It does exactly what is expected and brings the family closer as I wanted. Movie Nights in the home with children is more entertaining and appreciated by all. No more microwave popcorn! The joy my children get and the anticipation it builds is the most precious part. They are excited and it doesn't feel like a chore or a must do for parents, its a want to. It is so quick and easy to set up, the popcorn pops without fear of burning it, every piece is light, crunchy, and fresh. Instructions are simple and easy to follow. Clean up is a snap. Space saving design allows me to leave it out for use any time of the week. The best part is, I know its fresh and I know whats in it. Family night events have been enjoyed more regularly because of this machine.

    • A. While the unit is running the popcorn begins popping until eventually filling the kettle (containing oil and popcorn kernels). The popped corn will spill out of the kettle into the bottom of the unit (as pictured). When all popping has ceased, you empty remaining popped corn left in the kettle into the bottom of the unit via the lever on the side of the unit.
