I have had several machines to make smoothies and icy drinks and none worked great. Got this one on sale after Christmas for myself. Didn't expect much for the price - under $20 on sale. Boy was I surprised at how well it worked and how easy it was to clean up. Wasn't convinced it would last. I have used it several times a week. It's still going strong. Now my daughter wants to take it off to school with her. I'm not giving it up, but ordering a green one for her as a surprise.

I have looked high and low for the past three years for an affordable machine to crush ice to the consistency I want for my smoothies. This machine is perfect. So easy to use, so easy to clean. I use it every day and sometimes more than once. I add flaxseed, ground chia seeds and other powdery ingredients with some liquid and ice and the blending and texture is always great.

It's rare that I would give anything 5 stars, but this product is fantastic! I was thinking about buying the Ninja blender, but I didn't need all the bells and whistles. When I saw this little guy, I picked it up right away. It crushes ice so good, there are NO CHUNKS whatsoever. The blades are SUPER sharp, so be careful. Made smooties, milkshakes and daquaris with ease. I only use this product for drinks. If you follow the instructions given, you will enjoy this product.

I was looking for a blender, and this one was on sale at Walmart for $24.00. I was rather leery, afraid it was on sale because maybe it wasn't any good; boy was I surprised!! It is awesome!! Other blenders that I have had...the mixture would always get stuck in the bottom, and the blender would bog down; I would have to stop it, take off the lid, use a spoon and move the mixture around before starting again...usually doing this several times before having a good mixture. Not with this blender!! I throw everything in, pulse a few times, and everything gets mixed without anything getting stuck. I also love how you can just lift the motor off, the lid stays on, and a pouring spout makes serving a breeze; if the mixture settles and needs a little jazzing up...simply sit the motor back on top and pulse a time or two again! I have never had a blender that works as good, as simple to operate, and very easy clean up. I am very, very, very happy with my Ninja!!! As a matter of fact...so happy...that I am going to go make me another mango strawberry daiquiri right now! Cheers!!!

Best blender for the money

The product itself is very good, works very well, and a great value for the money you spend. It is excellent at blending thoroughly whether your using ice, ice cream, smoothies, or anything else I've tried to date. It dual blades at different heights is an excellent design that does well in all aspects and far exceeds other blenders I have tried. There are only two minor drawbacks but neither has been a problem for me and what I use it for in the least. The first being that the top blade comes loose to easily and doesn't lock into place well enough for my taste. The second being that it has only one speed. It does allow you to pulse the blender rather than just saying on and off, which for most things I've used it with hasn't been an issue in the least. Overall I'd give it a 9 out of 10.

Bought one on sale for $25 because I couldn't pass it up at that price. Didn't have high expectations. It does a *great* job on smoothies and frozen drinks. Not as good as a Vitamix, but those cost like 15 or 20 times as much. Because the blades are sharp (unlike a normal blender) you can also use the Ninja as a food processor for small batches -- just pulse the motor a couple of times. I thought I had burned up the motor grinding 2 pounds of peanuts in one batch into peanut butter, but it was just a thermal switch that shut out (it didn't smell hot, but I'd been working it pretty hard for about 2 minutes) I checked it 20 minutes later and it was working fine again -- must have reset itself when it cooled off. I never give anything 5 stars, but I would give this 4 1/2 if I could :-)

You can tell it was designed by a man!!!!

Seriously, though. It's about time someone had a fresh, helpful, and inexpensive take on blenders! We have used this little beauty daily for several months now with absolutely no problems and great performance. What's that? You say a man or a woman could have designed such a great tool?!? Well, of course you're right, except for one tip-off: The motor is too heavy and smooth to be easily picked up one-handed, unless your hands are large and strong. Must have been a man. Anyway, if you have compromised hand strength (arthritis, carpel tunnel, ms...) you may not find this product easy to use, since the motor must be lifted to the top of the pitcher. Smaller-handed people must be ready to always use two hands to pick up the motor (all the better if they are dry, too!). If Ninja wanted to improve the product, they could provide better grips on the sides of the motor. Honestly, though, that's a really small peeve compared to the wonderful job and great price of this machine!

I wanted a magic bullet or nutribullet but kind of pricey. I saw the Ninja with 400watts (magic 250 or 300 watts and nutri 600 watts) but Ninja is cheaper. I am impressed and so glad I purchased the Ninja. I already told a friend.

  • A. Frozen drinks are what it excels at. Put the ice cubes in first and pulverize -- they should turn into "snow" in just a couple of pulses. Then add your lime juice and booze and stuff, and blend just until it's all mixed smooth. Instead of adding Triple Sec or other orange liqueur, try using orange marmalade (the bittersweet kind), lime or lemon juice, and tequila (and ice of course.)
