Camera and card were bought at this time to photograph my granddaughter's wedding so I want to make sure everything is go. The card is very fast and the price is reasonable.I bought the new camera and wanted a card that was up to the task. I decided on 32 gb and will use more than one card after an older card cratered in my phone while I was in the middle of a vacation. The D3400 is more than adequate for my level of expertise. I could spend $10k more and not get better pictures. I am spending time with the resources Nikon provides and feel their support adds significantly to my enjoyment of the camera.

Nikon Camera Kit
Pros: The set was exactly as described and was at a great price. This was a birthday gift and there are so many features and accessories I think the recipient will be busy for a very long time figuring them all out. Very fast delivery, with the whole box of goodies arriving just a few days after placing the order. Cons: [...]
Very pleased with my purchase.
I already had essentially the same package which I had bought one piece at a time but wanted to give it to my granddaughter and get another for myself. I found this package at a significant savings from the one I had so I bought it. It arrived on time and had everything as described online. Sometimes the things you cannot see in the description are of inferior quality but that was not the case here. I am very pleased with the purchase.
Pros: I like the camera . It is pretty easy to use Cons: The book that came with the camera does not give enough information.. It describes things but doesn't tell how to use them. Other thoughts: I called before purchasing this and the item no I was looking at must have been different. I ask the lady if the lens that came with it were Nikon and she said yes. I'm ok with the vivtar lens that were sent but not as happy about the Sigma lens. I called and ask if I could exchange it for a Nikon lens that was 55 to 200 instead and she said she would talk to someone and email me the next day but she never did.
Nikon D3400 camera
Pros: I really like my new camera an find the 3400 a good choice for those of us who will not pay the ridicules price for a mirror less camera. Cons: I just wish Nikon would wise up and use a preview screen on their cameras. Even us professional photographers have eyes that get old in time so looking through the viewfinder is not the best option.
A Great Camera But I Returned It
I purchased the D3400 to replace a D3300. After comparing the new to the old I found the images to be the same, but the addition of SnapBridge, and improved battery life were not features I valued over the loss of auto sensor cleaning, and a less powerful on-camera flash. I returned the D3400, and will consider something higher up in Nikon's DSLR line. BeachCamera was terrific about the return, and for both the purchase, and return experiences I highly recommend them.
Started great and then......
When I first got this camera, I LOVED it! I was taking pictures of everything! And then, I volunteered to take photos for iconic moments in people's lives such as gift openings and weddings. This is where the story gets sad. During my friend's wedding, I was taking photos, wanting to capture every perfect glance, smile, and first kiss that depicted their true love for each other. But, when I tried to take multiple pictures quickly in a row (snap snap snap), the camera screen would go black and be unresponsive on my 3rd attempt at shooting!! WHAT CAMERA DOES THIS?! I tried everything: changing the setting, clicking buttons, prayer - NOTHING! I ultimately had to take out the battery and put it back in. Honestly, I'm a patient person. If this happened once, I would be able to brush it off and give the camera a break for working so hard. NO! This happened 8 times in a 30 minute wedding ceremony! I missed the first kiss, celebration walk down the aisle, and SO MUCH MORE! Fortunately, the bride and groom were understanding but OMG THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE! It didn't just happen this day, it happens now just about ANY TIME I try to take multiple shots quickly back to back. I'm not sure if there's a fault in the camera, or if this is just how this camera is - but this is sad. When not taking multiple shots, the camera is beautiful and I love it. It's just the instantaneous precious moments in life that I miss.. (dramatic sigh).
Camera was bought as a gift but it was definitely not new. The tape had been cut and the free memory card and cable to connect to a computer were missing. Minor issues but it makes me worried about the state of the camera. I realize that the description says nothing about it being new but i figured that was implied. My mistake
