I bought this for my granddaughter because she got her IPad stolen in another country, and she has to bring a computer to school everyday, since I didn't want to spend $$$$ with a MacBook that is light decided to try this little computer. I used it for a while and I liked to see how fast it goes. I hope it last... I loved the detachable tablet, it's a plus... Loved it! Thinking in getting another one for my husband.
Let me preface this by saying I am a licensed telecommunications contractor and have a degree in IT/Computers with over 30 years experience. I bought this as an experiment to see of it would replace the $500 windows 8 laptop I have to carry daily for my work. As a telecommunications and computer network contractor, I use a Android tablet and my laptop daily for everything from logging in on jobs to Programming and testing commercial internet systems and wireless network system for commercial use. I was able to find a good software (for about $10.00) that would also let me run Android Apps on Windows 8. So for less than $200 I have been able to replace $900 worth of tools and went from carrying 2 devices (laptop and tablet) to just a single device no bigger than my tablet I carried before. I did add the 32Gb micro SD and that is where I store all of my programs I need for the field. This tablet/Laptop has worked so well for things I do such as Programming phone systems. I purchased a 1 Gb USB Ethernet adapter (because sometimes you just have to hardwire in) that works amazingly well, I also have a USB to serial adapter (needed for connection to equipment that requires a serial connection). I Purchased a bluetooth mouse for it so I wont have to use my USB ports and leaving them open for the other devices I often have to use. Main point is= for under $200 I have managed to replace a $500 windows 8 laptop and a $400 Motorola Zoom Tablet. If I drop it and break it, I won't cry as hard over it as I would over one of the other devices I replaced with this. For the price it is an outstanding piece of equipment. In fact I actually like it so much I am looking to buy the 11.6" one and give this one to my wife.
I'm actually going to review 2 tablets here the Nextbook Flexx 10.1" 2-in-1 Tablet 2/32GB Quad and the RCA Viking Pro 10.1" 2-in-1 Tablet. Nextbook for me and RCA for wife she wanted one with a color case. With reading all the bad reviews on both tablets. I decided to get both anyway. I have waited about 6 weeks for this review. The rca has louder speakers then the nextbook had to buy external speakers for nextbook when watching tv shows on demand, loud enough for radio stations i feel, both seem just as fast, screens on both are very clear, the nextbook is windows and the rca is lollipop not compatible with windows. Wifi is quick and stable. plenty of ports for different devices. We have not had the problems as others. We realize these are not toys but lightweight tools. In my case it is great for collecting data between the office and factory. So far both have a 6 hour battery life after recharging. can't really say anything bad about either at this time.
This unit was purchased when my new Thinkpad Crashed on a business trip. I bought it for a backup and found after I purchased it had Windows 8.1. The bad press on tablets running windows worried me until I fired this thing up. It runs everything including my Autocad 360 and never slows. I have since left my Thinkpad at home for Trips and use this. It has worked so well that I sold 3 more of them for Nextbook. Had to go and purchase them since my techie friends didn't want to be seen in Walmart. I am upgrading to the Nextbook Flexx 11 soon as the keyboard on the 10 is a little tight for my hands. If you travel this is the product to get. It runs on high performance setting for about 5 hours and if I use energy saver I get almost 8 hours.
This device was purchased to replace an 8" Windows tablet. This product is easy to use, responsive, bright, and highly detailed. The device has a fast 4-core processor, and 2GB of RAM. This makes it very responsive. There are the most used ports on the device, micro HMDI, micro USB, and a slot for a micro SD card. With the use of an OTG cable you can connect a flash drive or external hard drive. The detachable keyboard is nice sized, even for my large hands. I'm 6'3" and 250lbs, and have no issues typing. The best thing about the keyboard is that it has a standard size USB 2.0 port on it. This is a great product, and comes with an amazing price! I highly recommend this to you!
I'm a bit of a geek and I bought one of these initially for my partner. He loves it. He uses it primarily for writing books and casual surfing. When I first received it it was quite buggy. The mouse pad would do all sorts by itself! I upgraded it to Windows 10 and ever since it's been a flawless machine. So flawless infact that I have ordered another for myself. It's quick (despite having 2GB RAM) and can do most things (browsing the Internet, typing emails, using the Office suite) very, very easily. When you have upgraded, remove the Windows.old folder (this saves you around 8GB in space). If you decide to store things such as music, videos or whatever please remember to buy an SD card. If you use the internal 32GB as the main storage the machine will eventually slow down. Simply buying an SD card and making sure you store everything to that card will means your machine will always be as fast as it can be.
Purchased this item with starting up a business in mind. Lots of kiddie games that I don`t need. Have to pay for just about everything but worst thing is the cameras are only 2 pixels. I need to take before and after pictures for my business and this tablet does not allow me crystal clear pics either way.(front or back)
I read all the reviews I could and watched all the videos about this tablet before I bought it. I knew the history of it, but couldn't beat the price and that it comes with the keyboard rather than having to purchase it separately. I bought the tablet,on 6/29/15, online and picked it up in store. It ran great and was easy to set up. It did everything I wanted it to. The biggest flaw I found was that the mouse pad on the keyboard is super touchy which gets very obnoxious when you are in the middle of writing a paper. Also, on occasion the touch screen chooses to not want to respond, but it will respond after a touch more or two. I had a recent problem, the same that others talked about. My screen blacked out and the tablet will not turn back on, but when it is plugged in, the light will come on signifying that it is charging. I registered my tablet and called customer service. It was no hassle to get a replacement tablet. I just have to send mine to them and they send one back to me. The cost is worth the hassle in my opinion.
