    What's a Tablet PC?

Tablet PCs are compact, ultra-portable entertainment devices that let you read email, surf the Internet, read eBooks, view photos, play games, listen to music and watch video files. Most tablets are based on a smaller operating system, which allows you to purchase and download additional applications from supported stores. Tablet PCs do not have a CD/DVD drive and will not run Microsoft Windows or its applications. Tablet PCs function as a secondary device for casual entertainment purposes, and are not meant to replace a computer. They are ideal for use around the home and on the go with WiFi or 3-4G mobile broadband connections (pay as you go, contract may be required for service).

    Great Tablet for the money
I'm NOT having any problems with the tablet, or my wife's . I installed several APPS I want to use and it connect to my WiFi and Bluetooth devices fine. I installed Firefox as a browser, Yes people you DO NOT get the whole 16GB of storage..the operating system has to use some ! Graphics are fine, movies on my 64GB micro-SD card play fine. I think people do not know what they're doing with tablets. They are NOT a Windows Laptop PC. Yes they get warm or hot if you hold them where the battery's located. and the battery lasting times depends on what you are running ! movies vs web browsing ..etc . It has a micro-HDMI port to connect to your TV with the right cable or adapter. you can connect it yo your PC by a USB cable and download APPS to it or music, movies files or your document files or PDF files.

    NO NO NO NO NO
Nextbook Ares 8A The positive, 1.92 quad core Intel processor should be able to push most anything you can throw at it but the downside of this tablet is many fold. Slow internet performance, Android Marshmallow 6.1 is a giant memory hog, consuming 74% of memory before and after cleaning out even after force stopping memory eating programs it continued eating more memory the longer you used it.... but it gets better, many of the programs you disable or force stop mysteriously turn back on if you go back and double check. Incompatibility with many browsers is a huge problem. Poor screen definition, everything was soft and hazey not clear and sharp not to mention the vanishing pixels the more you used it. Sound quality is very poor with little volume and works no better even if you ad external speakers. Then this morning it would not boot up and after 45 minutes with support we agreed, it needed to go back after less than 24 hours! So, the sub 2 star rating seems a bit kind, I would avoid completely, pay a bit more and get an RCA or LG tablet.

Haven't seen the problems others have.

My nextbook connected to the internet right away. I use it for reading and audio books. Sure its not an Ipad but its not $500. You kind of get what you pay for. If you buy a Chevy Spark its not going to beat a Chevy Camaro SS. The speaker is poor thats why i use earbuds. Remember its a $60 tablet. . When I press the Chrome button I get Chrome. Of course I don't visit naughty sites that put viruses on my tablet. As far as memory use a micro sd card. Marshmallow allows you to mount the card as internal storage. All in All I think its a fine tablet for the price . I paid $53 .

    Good tablet for the money

Had this tablet for a week. I had the WiFi not work at first and the way I fixed my issue was to do a factory reset and it worked fine after that. I found the lag problem is caused by the battery optimization on the android system. Most of the problems that people are having is due to marshmallow. Until next book issues a update do those things and the tablet will work fine. Its been good for reading books, news and videos. Screen looks great for a $68 tablet. If your looking to use this for gaming spend more money and get a different tablet it only has 1gb of ram and that's only enough for lite duty. Its a great tablet for the casual user.

    dead after 9 days

bought it worked good at first had 6-7 hrs battery life 16 gbs mem every 30 mins or so got a message saying system hot automatic dim display which cannot be changed went to settings to check manual was a dead link went online same bs result. how can product be new with no manual no number to call that works. as i used this my apps the tab started freezing crashing non stop. 9 days after buying tryed to turn on was dead and very hot after charging don't buy also avoid the rca 7 inch tabs they suck 2

    Useless

This one an the RCA 7" were both on clearance, my husband bought the RCA 7" voyager III and I got this one due to the fact that the processor was faster, the screen was bigger, well bigger isn't always better at least the saying is true with this tablet. It has nothing but response time issues, it's very slow at opening or closing apps, and even then it doesn't even close the apps you have to manually press the little square button at the bottom to close them otherwise they will still be open in the background were you can't see them. Also, you can't download Netflix through google play you manually have to do it from the Netflix website under the help center, you basically have to download the file, and once it downloads on your tablet you just have to find it in your folder and hit install, easy enough but still a pain, most app in google play would not install on this tab. Only reason I gave it 2 stars is the battery life is very long. So far no issues with the RCA 7" Voyager III tablet, my husband's works great so I returned this one and pick up the RCA 7".

    A horrible mess

So this tablet is an oxymoron. It has 16gb of storage but only about 10 is usable after the operating system and bloatware (pre-installed apps). It had OK ram but not great. It also ran android 6.0 Marshmallow ahead of most other tablets out now. It also allowed adoptable storage. The big problem is that despite the better specs, it was cheaply made, not surprisingly for the price, horrible graphics, blurry and pixilated, an annoying screen vignette that can't be turned off. It ran hot. It had horrible sound, felt cheaply made. You cannot use a stylus with it, it won't work. It also literally has the worst camera I have ever seen. It looked like there was some kind of weird filter on but it was just the normal camera. I had a better camera on my flip phone 10 years ago. So if you just want lots of storage and dont care how horrible the quality is then this could be for you. If not , it aweful.

Got 3 of the ARES 8A Tablets - none worked on wifi

The first one I purchased didnt work on WIFI - the tablet would recognize networks but wouldnt connect - with - or without security. I thought maybe there was an issue with the tablet, so I took it back an exchanged for another. Nope. The tablet could not even differentiate between secure, and non-secure networks. 3 is a charm right? Nope. Still didnt work. I dont know if this was just a bad batch or what - but the unit just came out in January 2017. Maybe there are some bugs to work out. IN any even, I would wait for 6 months or so.

    Do Not Buy

So my mother bought not one but two of these and we didnt even have it a month when tablet number one just suddenly stopped turning on after a night of charging which resulted in tears from my 3yr old. A week later tablet 2 did the same thing it just stopped turning on. It gave no reason b4 hand when it was working of any issues it just simply died we charged it and in the morning when we went to turn it on it wouldn't. The box has a card from the manufacturer saying not to return it to the store but to call them or look on there website for tech issues or customer service. So we did. On the web site it says if you ate having any issues and you did not buy your product directly from the web site bring back to the store where it was purchased. So again very misleading and nothing was solved. Hopefully walmart doesn't give us any issues since we have the original reciept. But please dont buy this product its a waste of time tears and money.

Got this tablet for my birthday

On March 8th i got this tablet and it is now April 10. 32 days old and guess what it is nothing but a paper weight. When i tried to take it back they told me it is over 15 days so i should contact the manufacture to see if they can help me. I would not recommend this tablet for anyone. JUST STAY WAY FROM IT

    2. Yes it came with VUDU but could never get the app to open kept getting an error message, I think it's the app though and not a tablet issue since we got the same error on the RCA 7" Vayager III tab.
