Pros: Very stable and deep enough to insert orthotics and still have a roomy fit.
Cons: The heel is too wide. Seems everyone complains about the heel of this model, but New Balance refuses to listen. Too bad, as the 847 is the only shoe I've been able to find that works for my feet issues.
Also, I usually wear a U.S. 9 women's so ordered the half size up as recommended. Had to return them for my normal size - this shoe was huge!
Lastly; if you are shopping for a stable shoe, I do NOT recommend the model NB928. It is a horrible shoe! I needed a solid black leather shoe for work. I should have returned it immediately, but thought it may just need a break-in period. I wore it one day. The shoe is extremely stiff, too high at the ankle and has hard plastic tabs that reinforce the top shoelace holes. They rubbed blisters on both sides of my ankles and I now have permanent discoloration from those blisters! Needless to say, a waste of $140+. I wasn't invited to review that shoe. Wonder why...
