I was cooking, pan searing some pork loin when the little bit of olive oil I had in the bottom of the pan boiled over my outer thumb from my nail to the joint. It melted the skin instantly peeling several layers of the dermis back. I bought the cream for fear of the salve causing more heat to the burn.
I kept my thumb in ice water for half an hour, then washed it gently with soap, applied the cream and a loose bandaid.
This is day 2, and not once have I received the pain burns usually cause. I feared when I did it I would have to go to the ER but I've refrained due to the fact that it seems to be going through its stages fine. No infection so far, no real pain other than a twinge now and then. I'm amazed, I've had lesser burns pain me much more. Keep up the good work!
