I received the D3 Connected a little over a week ago, and so far it has been a great little machine. The Laser Smart navigation is amazing- it's the first robot vacuum I've had that cleans the entire house! We have one cat, and the Neato manages to pick up a full load of fur each time I run it. The wide brush roll is fantastic on carpet, and the Wifi connectivity is useful and reliable.
The vacuum does have a few shortcomings, however. The battery life is not great. It runs for about an hour and then has to recharge before it can clean the rest of our house. It typically cleans 600-700 square feet per run. Also, it's not a very graceful vacuum- It likes to plow full speed into furniture. I believe that the anti-collision sensors could definitely be improved. There is no side brush, and that's not a huge problem, but you can definitely tell that it doesn't clean well right up against the wall. And my last complaint would be how the Laser Smart navigation does get confused occasionally. We have a shiny transparent trash can, and Neato thought it saw a room beyond the trash can and tried for thirty minutes to get past it.
Overall, the great things about the vacuum largely outnumber its shortcomings; so, as of now, I would recommend the Neato Botvac D3 Connected.
