This is a good piece of equipment I have used it 6 times on different conditions and it has performed very well in all 6 occasions. The only problem I had was setting the day of the week. I took it to the Dr office with me and checked it with his nurses oximeter and it was on with hers so that is good enough for me. I have and old 4 years old and it checks ok against the new one. The cold air bothers my breathing and this was able to backup what I suspected was happening to me when I went outside in tempatures 40 and below. I am on Ox 24/7.

portable oximeter recorder.
wrist pulse oximeter
The device met my expectations. It was comfortable enough to sleep with and I downloaded it to the computer with the software provided and it displayed a nice bar graph of all pertinent data. The instructions are a little vague but average computer skills should get you there. Be sure to print it out when done because my computer was not able to access the files a few days later?? I don't know if the downloaded files are automatically deleted after a certain time period or not. It did read a few points lower on average than my doctors but that was not a problem.
A good product
Provide accurate reading. Looks durable.
Good Value -- could have better finger cup
I got this unit the same day the "sleep doctor" rented me his oximeter for overnight use. This device showed exactly, or very close to, the doctor's unit. An oximeter is essential if you have any sleep or oxygen issues. You can use it day or night. I love it because I can find out myself, without expensive and repeated office visits to the doctor. The instruction booklet is absurdly small-- and hard to follow. But I got the unit to work fine after a call to their support line. The software will let you see very cool graphics of overnight results, and you can use your computer monitor to see the "live results." You can print the results out in spreadsheet form too. You can save the graphics and send them in email or print them out. Sleep doctors want expensive sleep studies, and then want more sleep studies to just confirm something is working or not. This device lets you at least know your oxygen and pulse overnight. Very important information, which you can share with your doctor or family. A sleep study is for ONE night -- same if your doctor rents a device to you. I found out that you do NOT have the same levels every night, so a one night study has serious limitations anyway. I can hook this up as often as I care to know. I can let family or friends use it. I can wear it all day or all night. Its so good to have the flexibility. The finger cup is a little funky, my friend tried to use it overnight, and it was too uncomfortable. If you have large wrists the strap may not fit. But since other units are double or triple in price, this is a very affordable way to get this vital data. If your oxygen level is low overnight -- you could be headed for serious heart and health issues. If you don't get this "cheap" meter, get SOME meter if you have oxygen or pulse issues. Overall Im thrilled with this unit so far.
Not for Mac computer users
The associated software can't be use with a Mac computer. Plus, your PC computer CD drive must be of the "sliding draw" type because the supplied software is on a mini CD. The "auto-inserting" slot type CD drives will not accept the small CD. The maker's customer support is terrible. I sent 2 emails to their "support" address and didn't get a reply. When I called I was told by someone with poor english to send any questions to the customer support email address. However, once you struggle through the confusing directions and difficult to assemble wristband, the Pules Oximeter works great, is comfortable to wear, and produces great reports.
I had bought a Spo2 monitor before and it seams to be by the same company by looking a the graphics and software. The difference is that this monitor works with the software, but not the software you receive with the unit. You have to go to their website and download the software. I like it but what do I do with the data?
I purchased this product over a year ago and it was very helpful but it was broken accidently so I order the same one again because it was so good BUT, the new one I got was not the same even though the model number, bar code and picture were the same !! The new one is not nearly as easy to use,the band is rubber causing sweat under it and the cable from the finger to the oximeter is way too long . This style does not work well for my situation but I would highly recommend it for it's functions but not so much for comfort and ease to operate.
Drops out frequently, Many times reading off compared to Smith medical SPECTRO reading.
Not the quality I wanted
I bought this because the strength of my heart beats vary. Usually when I'm relaxed I feel my heart, but one day it suddenly got so weak it seemed to have vanished. I bought this for the heart beat graph it produces so we could have something to look at when I see the cardiologist for the first time. Any movement in my hand and the graph is affected. The one I was sent is NOT the one in the picture, the reader for your finger isn't a little band but instead a big rubber case that covers half your finger, but is twice as wide as it. The band is rubber like a sports watch not cloth, and watches normally barely fit, this thing only has 2 holes to make it smaller from where I have it so anyone that is thin would not be able to wear it. I wanted something to wear 24/7 so when I have a problem again all the data is gathered, but this isn't accurate enough for me to feel comfortable depending on it to tell me what's really going on.
