I was using my internet provider's router and my daughter would always complain to me she would get disconnected during her online gaming with her PS4. My whole house runs off internet so I decided to dish out the cash and buy this router. I asked my daughter if she was still getting disconnected and she told me no. She also said the lag stopped. I have a total of about 15 devices hooked up to my Nighthawk router-XBOX One,Smart TV's,Firestick etc. and everything works great. I live in a big apartment and my signal is excellent. I am definitely happy with my purchase!

Fair price, research computing needs vs router.
Price was fair in comparison to others of similar features. Initial setup was, at first, confusing. I am replacing an older Netgear router and remember that to be "plug and play". After contacting Netgear support for trouble connecting to my new AC2600 model, it was OK. Some reviews complained of poor technical support. I had no problems and was pleased with support. Now, looking back after tech support, it was not that complicated . I was expecting more ' plug it in and away you go '. I expected the new AC2600 to give me a little bit more signal strength bars than my old router ( it only gives me 1 more bar) . I am pleased with the speed of the router but it is just used for a basic home router. Dislike " Nighthawk App " availability to down on a Windows 10 pc.
I bought this router to replace an old AC1900, and I couldn't be happier. This one keeps up with the many items that are connected to my wifi, and only slows down when every person in my household is trying to watch Hulu or YouTube at the same time. I can sit out on the patio or be in the basement and the signal strength is still strong. Only complaint, I have to "reset" the router once a day or it just stops working.
Excellent Router ! I have my Xbox one /Two Streaming TV'S/ Laptop/2 cell phones and my computer running games all at once! I had to put it to the test and it passed with flying colors !
This thing is a beast!
This router is awesome! I replaced the router my ISP had given me with the nighthawk. What a difference I can get a full WiFi signal anywhere in my house also in the back/front yard a big plus, considering I have arlo cameras and a ring doorbell. The 5G is amazing if you are streaming 4K over Netflix. Range is not as impressive so you will want the router closer to anything you would want to connect over 5G but it still beats the original router. Don't expect this to increase your internet speed anything over what you are paying for from your provider, if you were like me and using their equipment they provide and usually charge you for each month more than likely it's going to cause a bottle neck as far as speed goes. I attached some speed tests before and after you can see the nighthawk performs much better. Easy set up has an app that helps you get everything set up and updated. Overall this thing is full of power I would recommend it to anyone looking to get a better WiFi distance and faster speeds also something that's pretty much plug and play this has a permanent home where my old router used to be. I received this router from Netgear as a part of a test and review program.
One of the best budget friendly routers.
Got this on Black Friday 2018 for $99 and it was worth every penny. I was in the market for a high end Wireless-N router but seen several reviews for the Nighthawk; combo that with the price and there ya have it. Pros: - Easy to set up. Practically a plug and play router. Get the App, download a few updates and your off and running. - Control all Devices from almost any Device using the App. Simple interface and can run speed test directly from the application. - 802.11ac Dual Band Gigabit with 2.4GHz and 5GHz WiFi options. I use the 5GHz for work at home. - Broad range and can cover most homes without the need of a mesh network. I used to have TP-LINK Repeater to extend my Modem's WiFi signal but it's hard to extend an already poor signal. The Nighthawk handles this flawless with little to no drop zones. Cons: - It's advertised to sustain speeds up to 800MBPs but this varies and not based on distance from the hardware itself. I assume the closer I was to the router the faster and most static my speed would be, but that is false. You probably won't notice the difference but thought I'd point it out anyways. - The Web interface is bloated and confusing giving you many many options that the average person wouldn't even use or understand. Stick to the App for ease of use. Overall the best budget friendly high speed router on the market. I'd definitely recommend this to a friend.
Excellent Router from Netgear Again
Got it for my dad. It was extremely easy to set up. 1. Open box, take out the router and remove its protective plastic. 2. Install the three antenna, screw them into place, tools not needed. 3. Don't power up device yet. Plug in the ethnet cable from the modem. ( I did not power down my modem) Plug in other ethnet cables which connects to your computer or TVs. 4. Plug in the power connector into the router. 5. Check internet on PC. 6. If you are using WIFI, you can find the network name and password from the router. (which comes in very handy and convenient) If your wifi device cannot connector to the internet, try rebooting the router and modem together. I had no issues at all. 7. I was not able to connect to the web at the very beginning. I logged into the router and set up the new password and set up the router according to screen instructions. That took maybe 1 minute. My wifi device can connecto the web right away. 8. Checked my speed from PC. 80M/s download and 12M/s upload from SpeedTest.net. Checked it again using WIFI from my phone and I got 55M/s download and 12M/s upload. Not bad at all! I think the PC ethenet speed can go higher. It is limited by my service provider. This is my first Netgear router. I own two other modem+router combo. As always, they have very sleek/cool design. The setup is very smooth and easy. It took me less than 10minutes to set it up. Love their modem and router products. Reliable and easy to set up as always. Highly recommended.
It is a great product very fast speeds with amazing features you truly have control over your network i have 18 devices running and they are rokus smart tvs ps4s xbox ones and have zero lag i have 400mbs service and run 800 mbs on my android connected to 5g and 490 mbs on my ps4 so considering i only have a 400mbs plan and 18 devices thats a 5 star router my opinion definately buy it you wont be sorry you did .
I love netgear routers. I've had an older mode for a few years. It's worked great. But I decided to upgrade to this new router mainly for gaming. My internet speed is 200 Mbps. With my old router it was only supplying about 166 Mbps. With the new nighthawk router, I'm at 226 Mbps. That's a 33% increase by just switching routers. The iOS app is easy to use and very customizable. Love the new router and I'll continue to use netgear
Dont waste your money
This was the worst router I???ve ever had. I bought this router several months ago from my local Walmart store (5101). Setup was easy, but this brand seems to be plagued by quality control problems. The router I bought at Walmart died within a month or two. So, I called Netgear. They were nice, apologized, and shipped a free replacement right away and included a shipping label so I could ship the first defective unit back. Well, a week later the first replacement died. So, I called Netgear again. They said they???d send another replacement, but I???d need to cover the cost of shipping the defective router back to them. This was dissapointing as this was a 200 dollar router, but I decided to do it because they were still willing to fix it. So, I shipped off the router again and received the second replacement a week or two later. At this point, this was the THIRD identicle router and it was giving me the exact same problems as the previous TWO. At that point, I decided it was no longer worth chasing a fix for the problem. I???ve since come to the conclusion that Netgear produces cheaply made and unreliable hardware. Eventhough the specs look good on paper, I would never recommend a Netgear product. They???re very unreliable. Ive since deployed a different brand of router and have had ZERO problems with it. My Nighthawk is currently sitting on a shelf, collecting dust. Do yourselves a favor and stay away from this brand. You???re going to be dissapointed.
