Nice, Wide, Sturdy Shelves
I love these! They are easy to put together, I did it by myself and I'm a woman who's only 5'2. I love that the shelves are wide (2 feet). It fits storage bins very nicely. I bought 3 of these and would buy more if I need more garage shelves in the future.

VERY disappointed
I ordered five of these shelves. Every single one of the boxes that were delivered was damaged and open upon arrival, with parts falling out of two of them. One of the boxes was apparently so badly damaged that Federal Express did not even leave it at my house; they returned it to Walmart, of their own accord. All the particle board shelving was damaged on the corners due to the boxes being open. Overall, it was not a complete loss, considering the price paid, but I was most definitely very disappointed in the condition that the merchandise arrived. (see pictures) PS. I tried at least 8 times to upload photos, but was only able to upload successfully one photo. Keep getting a Gateway timed out error - 504. So, disappointed in this review site also. :/

Great shelving

Perfect for storing boxes and other clutter in my garage. Easy to assemble. The only issue was the connectors to stack the shelves did not come in the box. I emailed the company and with charge they sent them to me in 3 days. Will purchase more for sure

Big & Sturdy

Thought it was too good to be true for such a great product at such an inexpensive cost. It arrived on time - the box corners/edges a bit mangled due to the heavy weight. This concerned us and after opening, some corners on the board shelves had broken off. We considered returning it, but after assembly, the shelves still fit perfectly and we couldn't see the missing corners. All-around, this is a cosmetically and durably sound product. Very quick and easy assembly. The dimensions were spot-on and our two shelving units fit perfectly in the garage space. It's tall, it's deep, and it's beautiful (see photo). Definitely buying more! Way to go Walmart!!

Arrived BROKEN BUT got a REFUND and to KEEP !!

I took one star away because when it arrived every shelf had a corner broken I missed 34-year-old quadriplegic so I had to have someone put it together for me which cost me a couple hours and Walmart made good on it and gave me a refund as other people left the same review it was missing some parts basically just one of the polls went to Home Depot pick one up for six box put it all together anyway and turned out great so if you could get it shipped without it breaking then you're golden it's actually a really good shelf if they happen to ship it and it does get broken you will keep it and get your money back as it's a large item and it's worth little to them to pay for a ticket shipped back to them in broken conditions… They will tell you sorry and give me your money back So can't say anything bad about Walmart customer service it's OK with me right away they took care of me so I am happy and I have a shelf that is massive hold unbelievable amount of stuff so thank you Walmart for making good on Fedex's mess up...

Great quality except..

This rack shipped very quick and it high quality. It is easy to assemble. The reason I gave it 4 out of 5 stars is because I hate the corners of this thing. You have to have a shelf right in the middle of this rack and it ruined my plans for where I wanted to put a shelf. The corner posts come in two separate pieces so it requires beams right in the middle to hold it together, it's kind of a pain. If the corner posts were one solid piece and I could put my shelves where I wanted, I would have given it 5 stars. Overall, good quality and easy to assemble.

Good for the Money

OK, read many reviews before buying this rack. There was many complaints about the instructions being poorly written, could not agree more! The problem seems to be where you connect the bottom part to the top part. My instructions had a bracket that connects them both, but this is flimsy and unsafe. i found a solution to this problem that is not difficult. I connected the bottom rack to top rack using pins from the shelves, then went to the hardware store and bought quarter 20 bolts and nuts and fastened the brackets to the side supports as shown in my pictures. The shelves are now sturdy and usable. Overall this rack is pretty decent, I will agree with other reviewer's that the plywood is a little flimsy but should work for most things. I believe for the money spent it is a very good value and would not hesitate to buy again.

Chipped corners and weird assembly

It's pretty good overall, but the negative things would be that most of the particle boards that it came with were damaged on the corners due to the whole thing being shipped in a crappy box so they all had chipped corners. Also, there's like a top and bottom bar that connect only using one of the shelves, so it wasn't that secure. Its hard to attach by yourself; you would need another person to hold up the bars when trying to connect the shelf.

fair

The product quality is fair. Plastic feet are not included Bases of the posts are bare steel. Post splicing brackets are not included. Rather, the third shelf is used to aligned the upper and lower sections of the L-shaped posts. See attached photo. This design restricts the user's ability to position the third shelf at other height. Shelves are made of unfinished particle board. It is unclear why the product name contains the term "Muscle Rack" as there is no other indication on the shipping carton or the instruction leaflet to indicate anything other than Edsal. The product arrived late. The order was placed on 11/25/16. The estimated arrival date was 12/8/16. Actual pick up date was 12/8/16. Actual arrival date was 12/14/16.

Do not buy!

This is not a "heavy duty" shelf. It would be if the MDF shelves were thicker, but they are so thin that they bow in the center w/ very little on them. The company claims that each shelf can hold up to 800lb, for a total of 4000lb. That number is way beyond bogus! My shelves started bowing in the center as soon as I installed them, and looked like they were going to break appart w/ only 50lb on them! The connector brackets were also missing from the box, so I was only able to build 1/2 a shelf. I called the company's customer service and spoke to a lady that seemed like she dealt with this problem a lot, and said that they would send me out the brackets and "shelf supports". If they already have shelf supports designed to deal w/ this problem, why don't they come w/ the shelf?! They expect ppl to call them and complain first?

So, 2 weeks later, I still hadn't received the missing parts. I called, and the lady claimed that they had "just come in", and would be shipped out right away. She sounded like she had just forgotten. The brackets arrived, and although the connector pieces are the correct ones, the "supports" are just random metal brackets, that don't fit the shelf at all! They are too short to span the shelf, and are configured in a way that they wouldn't work even if they did. They sent me a bunch of metal pieces that I can't use, and I still have 2 shelving units that can't hold more than lightweight office supplies, when I bought them to hold heavy product inventory!!!

1. if you do not want extend it..then you dont have to..
by shelfby14
2. we did, makes them sturdier.
by Illinois39
3. No, but you need to put the shelf in the middle where the two sections join. Think at least four shelves would be good for stability.
by rpcnurse
4. no but you should use at least3 top bottom and where brackets meet
by Rafferty1972
5. No...however it is recommended that the lowest shelf not exceed 24" from the floor for stability reasons.
by Edsal_Sandusky
6. yes, all the shelves have to be put in or the whole unit will not be stable.
by JKT1832
7. If you assemble the entire unit, then you should put in all the shelves. They seem to help stabilize the structure. It is much flimsier without them.
by PBoriginal
8. I would put all five shelves for support. Each shelve gives it more support. You can space them at different heights. The bottom, middle and top would have to be in the right place, but the other two you can space were you want them.
by MartaRose
9. You would not have to, but having all 5 adds to the stability
by cookiepro
10. Yes, they help to stabilize the unit as it is assembled.
by Thunderbolt2
11. The more shelves you use, the more stable the unit will be, you should not expect the unit to perform as advertised if you do not assemble it as it was designed to be assembled. You probably have to use at least three shelves, but I would use all five and keep the spacing pretty consistent.
by Ncideas
12. no you don't, if you need the height, just leave a shelf out

1. about 2' x 4'
by Alan100
2. It's about 4 feet by 2. Heavy, very solid unit, rated to 4000 lbs.
by wekivaorlando
3. The box is only a little larger than the shelf dimensions. 48" x 24". It is about 6 - 7 inches thick.
by muddlinthru
4. About 5' x 2'. They fit inside a regular Wal-Mart cart, and into the back of my Santa Fe SUV.
by SRD2girl
5. 48.5" x 24.5" x 3.5" It can be a bit bigger is smooshed.
by momofmanypets
6. 24*48*6 inches It is fairly heavy
by whatchername
7. I don't have the box anymore but I would say this is 49 inches long 25 inches wide and about 6 inches high and weighs 102 pounds.
by boomersan
8. Everything is laid flat in the box so it's approximately 48 x 24 - give or take 2 inches. About 3" wide.
by MAConline
9. 2' X 3'
by An anonymous customer
10. Large and heavy; about 52" X 26" X 4" and the boxes weight over 50 lbs each.
by eddp
11. The box is just an inch or so longer and wider than the shelf dimensions. It was only about 3 inches thick. It is heavy--100+ pounds but it laid across the back floorboard (behind the drive and passenger seats) of my Accord to get it to school to set up.
by StorageforClassroom
12. There may have been recent packing improvements - my boxes were 25" wide, 52.5" tall and 3.5" deep (mine had ~2" 'crush boxes' above & below the shelves to help protect the corners of the particleboard shelf decks).

1. None are really needed although a mallet might be helpful to properly set the railings in place. The only difficulties in assembly are placing the sheles on the higher levels and connecting the middle of the railings. One person can do the job but two would make it much easier.
by Ready777
2. I don't know. My frame bent and twisted.
by ElleWest
3. None really... But we used a rubber mallet to tap them together tightly.
by mcgyverr
4. Nope. Not at all.
by mcgyverr
5. You only need a rubber mallet - and read the instructions. I used a rubber mallet/sledge hammer mix (only using the rubber mallet part) to pound the shelf holders into the two "keyholes". Possibly having a 2nd person helping is advantageous. I did not have help, but this worked for me.
by Nebbie
6. A knife to open the box and a rubber mallet to tap things into place.
by Lilliander
7. I used only a five pound dead blow hammer to push the rivets into the slots, but a 24" piece of a 2"x4" used as a hammer would work. A steel hammer might dent the thin horizontal rails.
by CountryFiddler
8. rubber hammer and a screw driver if there has been damage in shipping
by disapointed
9. None, they snap together.
by ChrisM
10. A hammer is all I needed but I warn you do not purchase this shelf. It is weak and not worth the money. So weak, a gallon of milk placed on the middle of a shelf would break it.
by An anonymous customer
11. For the most part I just gave it a nice pound or two with the side of my fist. When that didn't work I used a small hammer and small block of wood. All you have to install is the beams the shelves sit on.
