It does not work.
It does not work and the manual says not to return it to the store. We have tried to conact by e-mail and they have not responded. It is an east coast # which makes it harder to get a hold of them. We are extremely disappointed.

Excellent lawnmower -- but assembly is challenging

I had my previous Murray for over 15 years, and it was great, especially for the price, $99. When I went to replace it about five years ago, I was disappointed that Murray was no longer in production. I was never really satisfied with the replacement I bought. Then, last year, I saw that Murrays were back. I researched them and settled on this model. I especially like that I have three options for handling my clippings: bagging, mulching, and side discharge. I'm not a big fan of mulching, as it does not degrade as well or quickly as I would like, and my turf builds up well above my sprinkler heads. So I like being able to bag and dispose of my clippings. The only problem I have had so far was with the assembly. While assembly is minimal, mostly consisting of setting up the handle, the process was challenging, as the openings are tight. But if you take your time and see where your T-bolts are hanging up, the results will be excellent. This lawn mower seems to be sturdy and well made. The instructions for both the engine and the mower itself are well written, and the engine is 50% larger than on my first motorcycle. I'm glad that Murray is back in production.

Best mower I've ever used!

The mower arrived this week, and today was the first time I used it. I was surprised with how easily it started on the first pull. The engine is much quieter than previous mowers, just as advertised. It is my first mower with the 11 inch rear wheels, and I did find it an easy push and easier to navigate turns and corners. Also, I transport the mower between two locations, and I was able to easily remove the T-bolts, fold in the handle, and stow in the trunk of my mid-sized sedan for transport. (My previous mower protruded such that I had to keep the trunk partially open during transport.) I use the mulch configuration rather than side or bag discharge, and the smooth cut was such that there were no streaks of grass to rake as with my last mower. I am very happy with this purchase and would recommend this mower to anyone.

GREAT MOWER

This item has bagging and/or side shoot for clippings. Tall grasses are cut with ease. I like the fact I don't have a primer bulb or throttle to start the machine or to adjust the motor speed. Height adjustments on wheels are easy to use. I recommend this mower to anyone that wants a simplified grass mowing machine.

GREAT & lightweight

Very good mower used it 20 times so far and it starts up every single time with one pull, also this mower is very lightweight, the way it mulches is very nice I have it set on 3 to cut. Price was good I would buy this model instead of the one below this one you get a bigger motor 6.25 for ($214.00 )which cost maybe $40 more then the step below is 5 .50 for ($172.00) and you get the big wheels which keeps the lawn even and get a bag to. I would recommend buying this lawn mower. ☺

Great Mower!

I have only used this mower one time since I purchased it a few weeks ago but so far I am really impressed with it. It was easy to put together and it started first pull. Just be sure to check the oil before use like the instructions say. Mine had no oil in it but the oil was provided in the box with the instruction manual. The grass that I had to cut was very thick and high but this mower had no problems cutting through it at all. It has plenty of power and is really light to push. I like the fact that you can use the bag or cut without it if desired. This mower is one of the best purchases that I have made and the price is reasonable for a mower this nice!

1. The main parts are together, you have to pull out the handle and tighten the knobs and add the bar. The only problem I had was not holding the bar while pulling the rope to bring it out of the mower. So watch it.
by shinnie
2. No, but I have NEVER mowed a lawn or used a mower at all and assembled it and had it ready to go to mow in less than 30 minutes. LOVE it .. Easy and perfect for me to use..
by ThenasMami
3. It comes in a large box mostly preassembled but the handle is condenced to fit the box for shipping. And as I explained the tricky part is the handle next to the mower assembly coming up. That was the magic piece.
by qwz1710m
4. Yes. Very easy to remove and unfold the handle
by mrjetson
5. Yes, a couple of things to do with the handle bars loosen the bolts, pull the handle bars up. Pull the pull cord up to the loop on the right. Add oil, and and gas. Catcher just attaches to the frame when you open the back door of the mower..Easy, Easy start.
by JustOhio
6. the only thing you have to do is to connect the handle very easy.
by domsquill
7. Mostly, Yes!
by ATillerTheHun
8. Yes. However you do have to straighten the handle and extend the handle out of the mowing deck. The instruction manual will walk you through that step by step with pictures. (No tools required for this process) You will also need to add gasoline and oil before first use. If you want to use the grass catcher (bag) you will need to snap the bag onto the metal frame. No tools required for this either. Preparing the lawn mower for first time use is about a 10 minute process that doesn't require any tools except your hands. Hope that helps.
by polarsnowboarder
9. No but it is easy to assemble. Remember to pull the bottom of the handle up from underneath the mower.
by critchcmc
10. Mostly assembled. The handled needs raised and tightened, the bag needs to be put onto the wire holder and of course oil (included) and gas needs added. No tools required though.
by JustRon
11. Yes it is fully assembled, you only need to put the bag together.

1. NO there is not oil in the engine of new mowers. All new units come with a bottle of oil to add. This is a popular question but ALWAYS check oil level before starting engine.
by MowHelp
2. no it is shipped dry, but comes with the oil needed to be put in. Takes less then 30 seconds, just open easy pour bag and pour it in.
by LandoMN
3. It came with a small little "pouch" of oil to get you started. It DOES say to change it after 5 hours of use, though, so by some extra real soon.
by Harbinger50
4. Yes, you have to add oil. You should have gotten a bag of 15ozs of oil with the mower.
by keneke
5. No it is not in engine. You have to add the oil which should have come with the lawn mower. If not, You can buy it at your nearby hardware store.
