The 1st word that comes to mind is Wow. This is not your childhood scooter, this is commercial grade, Pro built scooter. And it's actually not a Bird ; The scooter is branded Bird but is actually designed by Segway. The scooter can be ridden with or without power ; without power, it glides with ease and feels like a motor-less scooter. As an electric scooter, this thing is Fast and has lots of Power. You will have full control as you zip along during your ride. Pros: Fast, Powerful, Long Battery Life, Cool running lights, Cool Brake Lights, Airless Tires, Comfortable Deck, Bright Headlight, Electronic Braking, and Soo Fun, Cons: Cannot fold up scooter to place in Trunk, Looks like a Rental as it is Branded "Bird" (I worry about people jumping on it while I'm in a store). It you are thinking about getting a scooter, this is the one to get, no need to compare any others, this is a solid buy. Also, I did opt for the extended warranty as the price is very reasonable.

Great value for a price!
Great to have!
My husband and I now take daily scoots. These little buggers go pretty quick, ride smooth, and are a joy to have. They have always lasted as long as we need them to and charge pretty efficiently. We put some stickers on them to cover the bird logos, as we don't want people thinking they're a public scooter.
Cheaper version Segway ES4 without folding frame.
Brand new - very good scooter - poorman's version Segway ES4 without folding frame. I added external battery purchased on ebay - now I get top speed of 20mph and 30 miles range...awesome. Works with Segway App - it will update the scooter's firmware. Has GPS through app and other features such as cruising speed, location, and data battery life and miles left through app. Awesome deal. BTW - its a 300 watt motor with 700 watt max power....
Fun to Ride
This is great for inner-city or suburban travel with smooth roads. I learned to do tiny hops with it. I found hopping/jumping over sudden elevations in the sidewalk safer and more comfortable; without any suspension or shock absorbers, I can feel the vibrations all the way into my skull. After the first long-distant ride, I felt a bit shaken.
Good quality "BIRD"
My "Bird" delivery was 4 days late and I have to call Walmart to identify what went wrong. 1. Setup was very easy, 2. Came about 60% charged and I fully charged the scooter before road test, 3. Rides smooth, fast and all lights functional, 4. My daughter rode it up the hill with no problem (~14mph), 5. Overall, scooter felt sturdy, quality and fun so far.
Low Quality Scooters
These scooters turned out to be very low quality. After 5 days both scooters I bought no longer worked properly. One scooter had an error message about the throttle and would not turn. The other intermittently turned off while riding. It also started shaking very bad so you could not ride it. Seemed like an issue with the brakes in the front tire. Screws just fell off the scooters. They have a hollow hex head which is not standard so you can tighten them. The warranty said they would send parts but they make it difficult to replace so it was not worth it. When scooters worked they were very fun. I bought 4 of them but ended up returning all if them and bought bikes instead. These scooters cost too much for the low quality and issues we ran into.
