I bought this to take apart and build a scuba scooter. The thrust is just what I was looking for, prop pitch is adequate, and rotary switch works great too. I've had my unit down to 30' and the shaft seal showed no signs of leaking. Super great item!

Not very good
Left me stranded, stuck in reverse, in the middle of the river today!! I had to paddle back to shore!! 2nd one that's done this to me. Cheap plastic wheel at end of telescopic handle inside casing broke in half!!! Like I said, this is the 2nd one in 3 years!! Perhaps I'll get a Motor Guide next time!!

Tore it completely apart

Great Little Motor, 30”

Bought this a bit ago. Have been running it on the back of our 14' canoe. Does great with two people in it and our fishing gear. We paddled two miles or so downstream and it took us back up, including some class 1 rapids, and up another mile of river past home easy. Took a hard hit through some rapids on the way back. Knocked it off but didn't do any damage. Super happy customers!

Perfect for a small pram

We picked up a used 7.5 foot pram and put it back in shape over the winter. The Minn Kota Endura C2 30 is perfect for a kid's first boat. Other neighborhood children ride up and down our lagoon and we put this rig together for my gandson. (For little money.) Just the right size and speed for the "lifejacket crew." Check for battery sales and the Minn Kota rebate.

Good Rowboat power

I received this motor as a gift. I put it on my homemade 10 ft v-bottom rowboat with a 4 ft beam. The initial trial was with three adult men in the boat. Very little else besides oars, to be sure I got back. The boat moved along at what I would call a fast walk pace, maybe 5-6 mph with the motor on setting 5. We cruised the lake at this setting for about an hour. My battery (group 27 deep cycle) read 13.07 volts at the start and 12.31 at the end. The performance of this motor meets my needs perfectly. I can now fish without rowing. I believe the battery would last an entire day of fishing. Recommended.

Sleek and zippy

I purchased this new model to replace a more than 15-year old less-powerful Minn Kota trolling motor that began to malfunction. I use it to power a 12-foot porta boat around local ponds. The new Minn Kota unit seems lighter than my old unit. It'a a bit sexier looking while still maintaining a solid feel. The old unit had spring loaded clamp-on connectors, while this new model has large spade connectors, which I secure to my battery with steel nuts. I ordered a Motorguide 50-amp circuit breaker, which is the size recommended for this model, and plan to attach it to my battery with maybe velcro... When you unpack this unit, the only thing you need to do is to install the handle. Warning, read the instructions first, as you must line up the handle in a certain way before installing it or else the settings will be all messed up.

1. The telescoping handle has to be installed, which takes about 20 seconds. Remove the shipping pin from the handle's post on the motor (5 seconds), then slide the handle (shipped loose) onto the post (15 seconds). Also, the instructions and marine safety rules require a re-setable 50 or 60 amp fuse, which costs $8 to $12. And of course, a battery!
by KroozinPaul
2. You need to add a fuse or circuit breaker 50A to the positive wire
by cccampers
3. Nothing. Install handle(included) and attach to battery and go!
by An anonymous customer
4. 50A circuit breaker and a Marine DC battery
by Guywithanantfarm
5. all you have to do is pull a pin on the handle and push the handle on hook to boat then hook up the fuse and then the battery
by adoomiusbottomless
6. The owner's manual stipulates that you add an inline fuse. I must say that I have not done that yet.
by quiltbunny
7. All you have to do is slide the handle on, that's it.
by DonaldLS
8. All you need is a deep cycle boat battery (available at your Walmart for $65 on average) and a boat to mount it to. Nothing else is needed.
by ChrisinWI
9. You will need a good deep cycle marine battery. Any old battery will work but you will get longer lasting performance with a marine deep cycle battery.

1. Yes. The ends of the cables have open ended lugs for attaching to a FUSED battery terminal. The fuse is not included.
by KroozinPaul
2. cables are included they have lugs at the end to attach directly to your battery.
by cccampers
3. yes

4. Yes, the cables (approx 3-4 feet long) are attached to the motor when you get it. You'll just need a battery to make it work, that is all.
by ChrisinWI
5. yep
by Guywithanantfarm
6. yes. they don,t come with battery clips but with rings
by fisherman46
7. yes about 4 feet of cable with spade blade hook up's
by adoomiusbottomless
8. It comes with cables attached to the motor. The cabel is approximately 4 feet long. I modified mine with a quick connect (Minn Kota part) and added another few feet so that I could have my battery where I wanted it.

1. no fuse. All require a battery
by ajadams
2. Yep the fuse or manual reset breaker need to be 50A minimum, and make sure to install fuse or breaker as close to the battery as possible. You'll also need to pick up a deep cycle/marine style 12v. battery, and they should have them at walmart, that's where I got mine.
by Criddledowski
3. I'm not sure where you got the info. about the motor and battery, but it only needs a 12v lawn mower or sports craft battery. I bought my Ever Start 81 battery from WalMart and it worded perfectly for this motor when I took it out.
by JimmseyJam
4. You dont need a fuse you need a circuit breaker (50A) preferably waterproof- Go order one from your local auto parts store. For the battery make sure that you get a DC (deep cycle) Marine Battery as this is designed to be recharged repeatedly. You will need a battery charger for this also (not a maintainer!) the rule of thumb is the more amps it puts out the faster the recharge time. Any size will do (IE 24, 27, 29) but you need to stick to a 12 volt for this motor and make sure you get a MARINE DC. If you make the mistake of buying a car battery you will be throwing it in the garbage after a couple of uses.
by Guywithanantfarm
5. Walmart sells everything you need. A fuse is recommended but you can also use a breaker which walmart sells for like $7. http://www.walmart.com/ip/Attwood-50-Amp-Circuit-Breaker/16401755 Myself, I just use the Minn Kota Power center and that works fantastic. As for batteries you could use any 12V battery but if you want to make it back home and not run out of juice I recommend a deep cycle marine battery. I use this and run for hours and have never ran out of juice. http://www.walmart.com/ip/EverStart-Maxx-Group-Size-29-Marine-Battery/20531539

6. Don't try to use the lawn battery as a fellow suggested: I did so and the battery carried us a couple of miles away in a lake and the battery was run out -- we had to paddle back.
