I purchased this bookcase to replace an old one that was about to fall over from the weight of my books. The box was left at my front door, by FedEx, and was pretty heavy to drag in by myself. Because of the weight, I was intimidated to put it together by myself but I did after the box sitting in my living room for a week. It took the better part of a whole Saturday afternoon to put it together and I ended up with a nice blister in the middle of my palm from all the screws (there are A LOT of screws). I went meticulously slow, following the directions to a T. It turned out great. It was taller than I thought but perfect for my needs and I love it. I'm not sure why it's called a kids bookcase because it look great in my living room.

A Pretty Great Bookcase
A very nice bookcase
Sturdy and was easy to put together. My daughter loves it !!!
Beautiful, sturdy bookshelf. Love the curved sides. We have had it for 6 months now and it is perfect condition. It took a couple hours to assemble but my kids had fun helping me. It is now stocked with books on the shelves and toys in the bottom bin. We use it in our boys bedroom.
This bookshelf is amazing. Put it together with my 5-year-old & my 1-year-old, although he kept trying to eat the glue. Easy to put together. Very very sturdy! Extra pegs and screws (more than this type of shelf usually has) to give it more strength & stability. For the low price I paid I expected the usual cheap thin wood that would be ok for a kid's room but wouldn't last forever. But this is not like that. It's really good quality. I was pleasantly surprised.
Looks crisp. Holding up beautifully after a year or so now. Totally organized my daughter's room. Didn't take long for my husband to assemble it. Very happy with my purchase.
Beautiful piece of furniture. Very sturdy no saggy shelves and easy to put together. Just love it!
It's worth it
Very pleased with purchase. You have to assemble it but if you have a small drill it makes it ten times easier. I am happy with my purchase.
Cute, easy to set up bookcase
In many ways, I love this bookcase. It was super easy to assemble. I did it by myself in an hour and a half (lots of interruptions). The color was bring white and nice, and the size is just right for my boy's room. The 2 cons that I can see are that I didn't know this bookcase supposedly needs to be drilled to the wall (I set up without, but it was the manufactured recommendation). Another thing is the back is super thin, and some of the pre drilled holes didn't quite line up. I also had to use white tape to cover up the screws afterward (they are big and very visible). Other than these minor things, I am impressed with the bookcase. I'm considering buying one more.
Serves its purpose
We ordered this bookcase to go in our 4 year old daughter's room. I viewed several on many websites before deciding to purchase this one through Walmart online. I liked how it had several shelves as well as a bottom compartment for a few toys/stuffed animals. Because of the fact that on other websites, I read reviews on this bookshelf where people complained of damage to shelf; we opted for the store pick up option, thinking it would be handled more carefully. We waited a week for it to arrive and once we picked it up (which turned into a bit of a hassel) we open the box to still find damage in 3 different places. We proceeded to put it together being as how it's going in our preschoolers's room..I don't expect it to remain perfect. It's just disappointing when you spend the money on something and wait for it to arrive only to see that it's already messed up. Overall, it's good bookcase and she loves it. It looks good in her room and despite her large amount of books, knik-knaks, she stil has space for things on the very large shelves. I highly recommend anchoring it to the wall because it's very light weight despite its size. It was fairly easy to assemble, not even an hours' worth of time. Just be prepared to see some damage.
Great price, but you get what you pay for...
I like the size of the units, the pricing is great, heavy (seems sturdy) and I like that it came with screws to secure them to the walls for safety. Other than that, the quality is lacking. It's for a kids room so I didn't return, stuff usually gets thrashed anyway so it'll do for the next year or two and then we'll upgrade. Like I said the price is right, but you do get what you pay for here. I wouldn't have this in a main living area. Seams are pretty crooked and obvious where the pieces go together, screws are visible, and some of the white pieces were a little less white. The instructions also mislabeled one of the pieces so that was a little puzzling.
