Great cushion, especially on the heel.
The side zip is a big plus - you can slip in and out of these boots for running outdoors to replenish the wood pile, check the bbq, etc. Especially good if it is raining or mucky outside. Not for serious outdoor tasks for which a composite or steel toe is recommended, but otherwise great for odd jobs around the house, cottage or farm.
Well, my first pair had a zipper issue on the left boot. After posting a review on 2/6/17 Emily from Timberland sent me an email. Gave instructions on how to fix the issue. Took pictures, emailed them back, determined boots had a defective zipper, new boots on my door step in 7 days! I shipped the old pair back to Timberland (on their dime) and problem solved. I have been wearing the new boots and they fit perfectly! Recommending if you have feet issues, try these boots, I have plantar faciitis and I have no foot pain. Stood for three hours directing traffic in a crash Monday and my feet feel great.
I'm a State Trooper and needed a good boot for riot duty. Bought this boot and it is great! I have plantar faciitus and wear expensive insoles with ALL my shoes, except this boot. I'm able to wear them with the factory insoles and my feet NEVER hurt. I had to train in pouring rain for riot duty in Florida and the boot held up great. That's the pluses, now the cons. The side zipper on the left boot never stayed up very well, it would work its way down the boot about 1/2 way. Eventually the zipper blew out and I cannot wear them. I'm gong to contact the company and see if I can get some assistance on a replacement. I guess it was just a faulty zipper. Yes I would recommend these boots.
I purchased these boots on monday 1/15/18 and the first day I wore them was 1/17/18. According to my fitness tracker I walked a total of 1.21 miles and when I took them off both zippers had split open. The boots fit perfect and the zipper stayed up. I contacted customer service and was told I could send them in and it would take 2 to 3 weeks or I could go back to the store.
I bought these for work (EMS) and since they didn't have women's tactical boots I bought the men in two sizes down. Heel to toe they fit fine but they are not made for women and did not fit my foot. They were extremely uncomfortable so I will be returning them. Really disappointed in Timberland.
