Once I discovered these shoes I never tried another. I wear these shoes for business 5 days a week. They are very comfortable and they also take a good shine. After about one year or so I am ready for a new pair.
About This Item
Though I've owned classier looking shoes, none were nearly as comfortable. These feel so good that I worry they'll loose their cushion before they get too scuffed up. Then I'll be left with the decision to buy again for comfort or keep the shoes longer for looks. They look more than good enough around the office. Only complaint is that they make a slight leather-on-leather rubbing noise that I notice from time to time. It's probably only loud enough for me to hear.
Treat Myself Every Year
I have a Black and Brown pair. This is my third time buying them. I get a full year out of them, and I am on my feet a decent amount. Not to mention I have no arch, so I am tough on shoes. They are extremely comfortable. I also like the fact that they stand up to water very well, which is very beneficial here in Miami. They shine up very nicely too. While I wear them primarily for business, I also use them with jeans all time. It makes it easy to grab a pair of jean and go to casual events without having to pack another pair of shoes. I am a big of a fan of these shoes.
I've worn Rockports pretty much exclusively for 20 years or more, Ellingwoods at the office the last few years. I had never bought the Evander before. I've been wearing them 3 days/week for about 3 weeks now, and they feel great, very comfortable. They did require a few days of break-in. My last pair of Ellingwoods had a harder sole than prior pairs, and they lasted a lot longer; the Evander seems to have a similar sole, so I'm anticipating similar longevity.
Bought these shoes two years ago for my husband and he has loved them. Just ordered another pair because he has finally worn out the others. He wore them everyday to work and said these were the best shoes he has ever had. He is on his feet all day and was very pleased with the comfort of this shoe and the fact that it was water resistant was a big plus!
The Business Shoe
I bought the brown Evander because I already have a black pair. The is a little wierd feeling at first because of the air circulation pump in the heel. However, it doesn't bother me anymore because everytime I slip on these shoes it is like putting smooth, padded cushions on my feet. I think, by far, the best feeling dress shoe. I'd rather wear these Evanders than my Timberland slip ons.
I bought this for my grandfather, to replace some too-small, too-expensive shoes he was wearing. These came quickly and were exactly what he needed. He said they were much more comfortable, and they were much, MUCH lighter than his "high-end" shoes. He needed a narrower shoe, and these fit him better in the regular width than his others in an extra-narrow width. On top of all this, the shoes looked very nice. My grandfather is 90 and has always worn very dressy shoes; these look just like some of his really fancy shoes from over the years. I would highly recommend this shoe.
Looks great - nice non-offensive shoe that doesn't make me look/feel old like wingtips but doesn't look too young for someone in their 30's like most Kenneth Cole shoes. I'm a huge fan of Rockport shoes and this one fit consistently like their other shoes. The sole and sides are very stiff and still haven't quite broken in for me yet. The heel isn't too tall - and I'm tall so that's nice for me. Now onto the odd part of my review... I find the shoe feels fine in daily walking and sitting at a desk where I can move my feet without thinking about it, but I find them terribly uncomfortable when driving because of the angle my feet sit on the floor - and with a 2 hr drive I find myself slipping on an older worn out Rockport pair for driving... I know, it's a strange review!!
I have been wearing the Evander model for years. However this most recent pair which may have been my 5th was surprisingly uncomfortable. Same size and width every time and never was I so disappointed with this last pair. I did notice that the inside sole wasn't Adiprene but some new air absorbant tech. The daily pains however came from the upper tongue and toe stride. I cant walk comfortably in them. I wish that I could've had have them exchanged. I probably bought like 15 pairs of shoes over the years at Shoebuy.
