These socks are very soft yet very strong. I expected them in black, received white, so got to see how much they might discolor from dirt. They wash up clean enough and still look white. When first put on, the socks seemed like they only just fit yet they did not feel tight. Then, after being worn they relaxed, loosened up without stretching out too much at all, and cling perfectly. The Athletic Works socks are very comfortable all over. The materials are cotton 75%, polyester 23%, and spandex 1%. These socks feel better on my feet than my previous 100% cotton socks that now seem a bit dry and slightly stiff. The gray areas on the toes and heels help make my feet feel protected more than my all cotton socks without different material there. My toes used to seem comfortable, but after removing my socks and shoes, I would notice my toes being rough, whitish, and looking a little squeezed. Now, after wearing the Athletic Works Low-Cut Socks. my toes look and feel softer, pinker, and rounder. I did not understand why my toes were uncomfortable before, but now I see it is because of the socks I wear. So, with these socks protecting my feet, it is good therapy for my toes to cushion them more softly.
My heels also noticeably feel more cushioned. The materials in these socks increase the comfort of my feet inside the back of my shoes. Before, my heels were slightly floating around in the bit of space behind my heels because my shoes are a little loose back there. These socks are not thicker, but they do not get loose on my foot which caused my foot to slip around inside the all cotton socks while inside my shoes.
The odor control works because the socks did not collect any dirt or foot odor. I wear a Men's size eight shoe, and the socks fit wonderfully. The spandex really makes them have stretch, the cotton as a mix is extremely soft, and the polyester lets them have a lot of strength. What I like the most is that the elasticity of the top is not overly tight so it gets uncomfortable after hours of wearing as did my other socks. I do not have to remove them due to tightness discomfort. They stretch enough to fit a size twelve foot, and I see they are also made in a larger size for thirteen to fifteen. The socks come looking very small, and after stretched onto the foot, they comfortably adjust to the foot size. Because of the added polyester, they should last longer than my all cotton socks that wore through on the backs and heels.
