    my husbands work socks

I have bought the Hanes Crew socks for my husband to wear to work in and well to be quiet honest to wear ALL the time. when these arrived my husband who was in desperate need of new socks was getting ready for work started putting them on and he was shocked by how thin they were!! normally they are quiet thick and are very lasting, but with the thickness of these new ones I have a sneaking suspicion that these aren't going to last long at all!! I am so very disappointed with these socks, and NO I WOULD NOT RECCOMMEND THESE TO A FRIEND OR ANYONE ELSE FOR THAT MATTER!!!and that is not normal for me I always try my very best to give a positive comment on everything that I purchase, or at least find one thing or another that is positive about the item!! I do realize that this is not Walmart's fault but I do however hold Hanes solely responsible for this poorly made product!!

These used to be the best!!!

I'm not sure what Hanes changed on these socks, but the last pack i purchased at Walmart felt like I was putting on some old washcloths, so uncomfortable and the elastic was almost nonexistent. Needless to say they all ended up in the garbage, and I purchased Hanes "premium" crew socks from a competitors store. The difference was night and day. I will be purchasing these premium socks from now on as long as Hanes doesn't change their recipe.

    Why change a good thing?

I have wear Hanes crew socks for years but the new style is horrible. They are about an inch shorter than they were just a year ago. I am size 10.5 and just fit me. The sole of the sock is now grey and made of the same material as they use to be. The rest of the sock is now thinner and has less elastic in. I just ran them through the laundry and put them on only to already have them falling down. I will not be getting these again.

The socks fit well. If you move a lot I wouldn't recommend getting these. I work overnight and i'm constantly moving and the socks can't take the strain.

    Poor quality socks

These socks are cheaply made and have very little elasticity.

    Poor quality

I have worn Hanes socks for years and the last 2 packs I have bought have been poorest quality ever. The socks are thin and I don't know what they use for the elastic but it is sorry. after wearing the socks 2-3 times the elastic is completely gone/finished and will not stay up and are stretched out, they will actually fold back down over themselves while you're wearing them. I have purchased my last Hanes socks.

They were a bit big, and loose

So when I put them on they not my size even though the website said they were. I guess they run a little big.

these socks are a joke. so thin they are almost like dress socks

Thinner than they were in the past. Will not buy again.

innaccuarate size, poor design, shape and comfort

The photo tells a story. The current style 185L6 is on the bottom, while the style H856 (circa 2009) is on the top. Both are Size: 10-13. Obviously that are not the same size. Notice how the current style is not shaped like a foot - it's straight. That cause the fabric to wrinkle and pucker at the top when it is bent into the shape of a foot. Notice too how much larger the current style is. I'm an 11-1/2 and it's way too big around for me, while cramping my toes. It's just a weird shape for a sock. The seam at the tow seems too low and the ribbed part at the top seems too short. There is so much extra fabric in the width that it flops when I walk without shoes. And with shoes, it bunches up. Those 2009 socks were great. Possibly the best I've ever had. Hanes called them "Perfect Toe" and that was not much of a stretch. Even after an untold number of washings, they still fit great and feel great. I just don't understand how a company that got it right would go to all of the trouble to change it to something that is so much worse.
