I purchased a pair of theses shoes from a local supplier 2 1/2 years ago. I work iB construction with these.. very good quality, I'd say just as good as redwings. Now I have had to replace 4 pair of shoe laces and about 5 pair of arch support insoles over the years. It's just recently I've worn through the bottoms of these shoes. Again 2 1/2 years.. my Fitbit avereges me at 15,000 steps a day.. 6 days a week I typically work with these shows Only thing I'd have to say is get wide versions I've had the normal size and it fits a little funny. I love the composite toes. Doesn't get near as gold on toes through winter weather. Below is a picture of the brand new one verde my 2 1/2 year old now retired one..

First Oxford Style Safety Shoes
Overall the construction of these shoes seems to be good with a couple of changes that would improve the shoe considerably. The replaceable insoles are decent from the arch support to the heel but very thin and too soft at the toes. I replaced the insoles with the Dr. Scholl's Work insoles and it made a nice improvement to the comfort of the shoe when walking fast or going up stairs. Next these shoes run a little short and wide, had to exchange for 1/2 size larger than my normal shoe size. There is not a lot of room above the toes where the composite cap is. The outer sole is some sort of urethane material that is stiffer than what I'm used to; time will tell if this translates to longer wear. There is a bit of break in needed for the shoes and I find them to be a little uncomfortable driving where the tongue presses against the front of my ankle with my foot flexed far forward. I put them on a gram scale and there were only 8 grams less weight than my Keen steel toe utility shoes with moderate wear on the soles. The weight difference between the two was less than 1.5%, I was expecting more due to the composite toe. So for a shoe that can go through the airport and looks more like a business casual shoe it is good but it is no where near as comfortable as any of the Keen Steel toe shoes I've had, my issue with all of the Keens is that the soles wear out really fast, 6 months tops at the amount I'm on my feet. Not sure yet if I'll buy another pair of the Avengers, it depends on the long term wear and how much more comfortable they get as they fully break in. I've got only about 10 miles on them so far.
