Great for outdoor activity use!

I've had these a month now and am glad I tracked them down in the size I needed. With that said, size like you would a boot rather than a running shoe. At least that was the case for me (sizing down). I found them comfortable out of the box, although I was in and out of them.

I've worn them with socks and without. While I prefer to wear them barefoot, they do rub against the top of my toes and chafe as of now. I don't mind wearing them socks even if I get wet, though they don't dry as quick as the shoes themselves. Which the drying isn't super quick and dry best in sun. The Altama's hold smell somewhat but bad odors don't linger forever.

The thick rubber soles holds up well outdoors and on rock, trails, sand, road, and water. They look great (I got gray) and can be dressed up or down easily. The toe box is wide And has a solid cap. They are flat without added arch support but aren't flimsy. Ideally, lack of arch support should help strengthen the foot anyways. If you stray to far from the intended use when wearing these, they might not be for you.

Great Shoes

Great pair of shoes the material is definitely made to get wet. These shoes would be great to wear at the beach, lake, etc. They are made to be worn without socks and are a little tight with thicker socks but not uncomfortable.

Great looking shoes

I ordered these in the grey color and they look fantastic. For me these will serve as just a casual pair of tennis shoes so all the extra military inspired features wont be utilized very much. They do feel very durable and grippy. Based on other reviews I saw I ordered the wide size and they fit well. Others had mentioned to order a larger size than usual but I ordered my usual size and it is plenty big enough. I haven't fully broke the shoes in yet but so far the comfort level is ok but not great. There is almost no cushoning and it has a rubber removable insole due to the quick dry nature of the shoe. The shoes are also very flat with little support. I do feel that once they break in they will be pretty comfortable, just don't expect a shoe that has all day memory foam comfort.

Great look, comfortable in fins

These shine when used as intended - as on OTB boot with fins. They shed water fairly quickly and dry faster than other issued boots I've used, and the lower profile helps with comfort and donning/doffing of the fins. They are very light weight. The outsoles are indeed sticky, and great when on wet watercraft or climbing caving ladders. However, these are not hiking/rucking boots, approach boots, or even necessarily a daily wear boot. Because of the requirement for a low profile, they offer little in the way of real cushioning, no arch, and although they shed water decently, your feet WILL get hot if warn for miles or on a warm day. They also run narrow, for the above stated reasons. If you go a size up and use cushioned inserts, you will block the drain ports. If you don't go up a size, good luck comfortably using any inserts. Like another reviewer said, they do look pretty cool, if that's what you're buying them for.
