Great Results!
Very happy with results!! I was afraid to try it, but my headlights really showed my car's age. I tried baking soda and vinegar first. It looked better, but dried cloudier than when I started. I researched different other DIY methods amd read reviews for different products. I am soo happy with the results! Very little effort. Will definitely use again and kept me from spending $100s at the dealership. I may use again in a month or so to see if it gets even clearer. The picture below shows the before and after.

Meguiar`s Past-X Clear Plastic Polish Cleaner and
Bought a bottle in hopes it would (help) add sheen and enhance look of oxidized Acrylic Smoked Charcoal Plastic Window Vent Shades. After applying as directions indicate, it (does) cover some of the discoloration for a day or two but after exposed to rain and combination of heat and sun, it need to be done at least weekly. Maybe works better on Headlamps but forget about any benefit to Window Vent Shades!

It really works

I have a 2001 motorcycle and the windshield has "spider web lines" (for lack of better words), which reflect the sun light and make it a mess to look through, even to a point of looking over or around the windshield when the sun hits it just right. I was starting to think I would have to pay several hundred to replace it....then I read the reviews for Meguiar's Plast-X and decided to give it a try. It worked!!!! I did not even have a microfiber applicator or even a terry towel, but used what I had and followed directions. I have recently bought a microfiber applicator and will use it when I do the application next time.

Works Wonders!

Plast-X is great if your headlights are not too damaged. If they are, Meguiar's offers several kits for a complete restoration. However, for the price, this prodiuct can't be beat. Recommended.

Headlights look great now

Simple to use. Rub it on. Rub it off. It eliminated the yellow oxidation from my headlights with very little effort. Pretty blue creme. Nice smelling.

Used on headlights and Instrument panel

My husband had tried to clean some overspray off the glass over the gauges and completely scratched it. It looked like it had a haze it was so cloudy. After using the PlastX it was completely clear again! He then tried it on the headlights of my 12 year old expedition and we were shocked! The tops of the headlights had a dull brown haze on them which was completely gone and the longer he polished the clearer they became. Very happy with the results! The first photo is the light that has been cleaned the second is the one that has not.

1. I use a microfiber towel when using by hand. When using an electric polisher I also use a microfiber pad.
by 5thG
2. Any clean and soft soft cotton cloth you do the trick but first clean the surface with a clean wet cloth. Use water to wet the rag then wipe the surface dry and apply the contents from the bottle over the headlight/lamp and follow the directions on the bottle itself.
by tedoluoch
3. Any rag or paper towel works. Does clear up yellow haze, but it will return within a month or two.
by Merrickman
4. You can use a terry cloth towel or as I prefer a sponge like you might find in the kitchen. Don't use too much polishing compound as it will sling everywhere, but don't let it go dry either.
by steadyhand
5. I used terry cloth and it worked great
by Fizzgiggin
6. This really requires the buffing wheel that comes in the restoration kit. After masking off the area around the light, it normally takes just a few minutes per light. Results are amazing. You won't believe how much light you get! This is more of a refill bottle.
by travelmeister
7. Others have suggested an optional buffing wheel you attach to a drill, which will require taping off areas surrounding the lens to protect them from damage. I used non-abrasive dish scrubber and alot of manual labor. After cleaning, I wiped with a micro fiber towel to remove residue.

1. Working perfect in one step application.
by Lechu
2. Microfiber
by fullcartonlycame4milk
3. Will work and make clear for about a month. It will definately yellow again! Better than spending $200 a lense though. 5 minutes of rubbing each month.
by Merrickman
4. while the manufactor of this product recommends another product for real bad jobs, fact is , this improved it 100% making it passable untill full attention can be given
by PastorGillespie
5. I used it yesterday on my antique instrument panel that was impossible to see thru as it was severely yellowed and scratched. I kept working on it for 30 minutes and You should see how clear it is now. I can read fine print thru it as it now looks like crystal clear glass. Totally worth the 6 bucks
by Fizzgiggin
6. YES! It really does work. If your headlights are typical, it will take less than 15 minutes. Be sure to use the Meguiar's buffing wheel that comes with the kit. Remember to mask off the area around the light so you don't affect paint and chrome. I enjoy this so much, I polish out neighbor's and friend's lights.
by travelmeister
7. The package as shown comes with the Plast-X solution only. There may be a buffing wheel with another, more expensive package. Does it really work ? I had better luck with Crest Pro Health toothpaste, non abrasive dish scrubber and alot of rubbing. I didn't use any optional buffing wheel. Results were not 100 %, but a definite improvement

1. NO! Clearcoat is a "paint". Use a good wax on any clearcoat or paint. Whatever is on the surface determines what to protect it with. If it's painted, wax on, wax off......
by travelmeister
2. I am not sure but its safe on clear plastics, do not use on coated or painted surfaces. So I doubt that you should use it on clear coat unless you are talking about clear plastic. It may react on the clear coating so try a small area first.
by tedoluoch
3. Don't use this on anything but your plastic light lense. By clearcoat compund for your car paint and anything delicate.
by Merrickman
4. no, plastic only
by JerryG814
5. Not likely - didn't work one bit on 3M Clear Bra. Can't see it working at all on a weathered headlight.
