Christened Reginald Dwight, he was a shy boy with Buddy Holly glasses who grew up in the London suburb of Pinner and dreamed of becoming a pop star. In Me Elton also writes powerfully about getting clean and changing his life, about finding love with David Furnish and becoming a father. Me by Elton John - a page turner!

Anyone interested in entertainment should enjoy this book. I'm a big Elton John fan so I couldn't wait for it to arrive, but I read autobiographies and biographies if the person interests me, I don't have to be a diehard fan. I never wanted to put this treasure down. Elton is honest about his days of drug use and nearly everything else in his pack-filled life. I don't know how he had the time to write a book. I never found myself bored and Elton doesn't stay too long on one subject. He makes only short comments on most of his albums, good or bad. Even though I wish there had been more chat about that, because, well, I do have all of EJ's albums so reading more of his take on how they were written and recorded would always interest me, I flew right through the book. The last few pages are comforting for an Elton John fan. He explains that he's not retiring, just done with long touring. He has plenty to do and makes it sound like he's got many things to look forward to, entertainment wise. I would read this one again. That's how much I liked it!

Haven't read it yet but it will be a good book to read on a cold snowy wintery day.
