I did some baking with this product and tried it in several different recipes. I made custard, pumpkin bread, and yellow cake with frosting. I used the imitation vanilla extract in all the recipes as if it were real vanilla extract. (same measurements) In each recipe I found no difference in the finished product at all. Taste, texture, and smell were all the same. The difference comes in the price of the product. The imitation extract cost less than vanilla extract, yet you will get the same quality results you have come to expect from McCormick over the years. If you bake frequently, have a party, or gathering that you plan on quantity baking the imitation extract could save you a great deal, and no one will know the difference.
