Maybelline Facestudio Master Contour Palette
3 in 1 Magic from Maybelline!
I am fortunate enough that my career took me into the beauty industry and now, the owner of a successful salon. In the salon we do a lot of makeup for our clients. I use a brand of mineral makeup so when I was given the opportunity to use the Maybelline New York Facestudio Master Contour Palette, I was not sure of what to expect.
The product is amazing. Beautiful black gloss packaging with a see thru top so you can easily identify the colors. You receive a Highlighter, Contour and Blush. All colors are beautiful with a bit of warmth in the blush...What I truly liked is how the product applied. No dusting of product. It was like applying a smooth silk talc to the face.
I was even more excited when I let one of my best friends take it home, with much angst since I had really gotten to enjoy this contour set. But, Kelli absolutely loved it. She used the brushes that were included and had no problems with application. We both agree though...if the font size was any smaller, you would have needed a magnifying glass to read how to apply! She was impressed how the diagram on the packaging helped her apply each of the 3 colors to the face. Guess what...she wouldn't give it back to me...and she is a Chanel user!
If you are looking for an easy and fun way to chisel out your face...this is it! Buy it baby!!
You will not be disappointed.
I like the large size. Nice color!
I freaking love this contour kit!!!!
I got so excited when this product got launched this year and mine has lasted a long time. The contour shade is great for contouring but also if you just wanna bronze your face a bit. I looooove the blush and highlight. Their all nicely pigmented and I'm in love with the whole thing. I don't need to spend a whole lot of money on a contour makeup product. I'm very happy with this product.
Super convenient, especially for travel
I’ve avoided the whole facial contouring idea thinking it was just for younger women. I have a lot of blush colors and some eye shadows suitable for taking on this new task, but I wanted the convenience of having the basics in one container. When I had a chance to try such a product, I decided why not. I got the Medium to Deep, which was a mistake for me. I should have chosen the Light to Medium. Anyway, I am not disappointed in general. Here’s what I found: About the contour color; it's just far too warm and the color of red clay dirt. It is too much to really be what I consider to be a contour, which should look darker, but natural, like a play on light. The color of the blush is flattering, but it is very pigmented, so go easy on the first couple of strokes. The highlighter is a much lighter version of the contouring shadow. I found it to still be too orangey to use on my cheeks, but it made a great base for eyeshadow, so that is how I used it. The true issue I have with this set is the brush. It is just too small for blush. I have plenty of fuller brushes, so that wasn’t much of an issue. What I did find the brush to be useful for was cutting in the highlighter shade just above the crease of my eye. It is angled and fairly stiff, so it does a great job with the cutting in. Overall, this kit takes a lot of the guess work out of contouring. Next time I will get the lighter kit and write a new review.
