The shroud was loose right out of the box because the metal was so thin the screws would not hold. The fan tipped over once after about a month of service and the fan flexed and hit the shroud bending it. The fan blade is so thin, it will not hold a shape.
I bought this fan a couple years ago because we were having a heat wave and I wanted something that would cool me off better than a regular fan. I used this fan about 3 or 4 days and then put it away for later use. Well that later day finally came along and I decided it would be great for circulating the heat thru the house in the winter when it was really cold. I would put this in the hall and use it to push the air into the rooms farthest away from the wood stove Then turn off the fan once the house got warmed up. This worked out great for about 2 months and then the motor died on it. So in all I paid about 70 bucks for a fan that only in reality lasted a couple months. I still have the fan because the hubby wanted to find a replacement motor for it but since the replacement motor is the same price as a new fan I don't find it worth the expense and trouble to replace the motor, its just not cost effective. Though the fan itself is well built, the motors are awful they heat up and burn out quickly. I would not purchase this item again and I would not recommend it to anyone. I have had cheap plastic fans last longer than this thing.
