Quick fix for great smoker flaw

Great smoker . But a flaw in vent location. When cooking module gets hours on condensation due to its location and will. Cause control module to malfunction.. quick fix= a empty can of any beans ,remove top and bottom and place on top of vent daper. Fits perfect in slot and No more condensation on control module. Only flaw but a quick fix. Used it over a dozen times and still going strong...

Used all of 4 times before it quit working!

First 4 times I used it, it was great. Now the electronics come on, but the heating element doesn't get hot. I believe Masterbuilt only offers a 90 day warranty which of course has now passed for me. Do a little research and you will see this is a very common problem.

Build Quality Ok, Smoker Performance Not

The smoker is built well enough and nicely insulated, also the temperature control and timer seem to work well. Trouble is, it doesn't create enough smoke to give meat a smoky flavor. An hour pre-heat provided nothing visible and little odor. I called Masterbuilt hoping for good advise and was told to put only a few wood chips in, to make sure they're dry (counter to page 4 of the manual), and to try setting the temp to 175°F(?!). None of that worked so I'm going to try a smaller pork butt tomorrow. If nothing changes, the smoker goes back to the store on Monday. I want a smoker so I'll try a different model until I'm satisfied with one that works. Thumbs up to Wal-Mart's customer service - they worked hard to make me happy - no kidding.
This is my first smoker, and I couldn't be happier. I started out with 2 tri tip pork roast and 2 tri tip beef roast at the same time for 7 hours, turned out great, next was 2 10lb pork shoulders for 12hrs, both were amazing! just set time, temp, and add some wood chips simple!!!

I have owned this smoker for 3 years

OMG what a joy this is. I can put a 10 pound pork shoulder in the smoker and set it for 200 degrees for 13 hours and it comes out perfect overtime. You do need to keep adding chips every 30 minutes or so for the first two hours, then you and just let it cool low and slow. Works as good today as it did the day i purchased it.
