Verified Purchase
A significant piece of literature that is life-changing. In fact, I ordered a copy for my son as well. I am very pleased with this purchase.

Phenomenal!

This is one of my all-time favorite books! It is a poignant memoir from a survivor of the Auschwitz concentration camp during the Holocaust. Dr. Frankl offers his unique perspective as a psychiatrist undergoing these horrors. He offers some profound insight into human nature, the mind, and how such horrors can happen. The last section of his book is about his new approach to psychology (logotherapy) which stems from his experiences. His main insight is that humans need meaning and purpose in order to thrive, and he develops techniques for how to treat those suffering from the "existential vacuum" (those who may not have found these in their lives.) I would highly recommend this book to anyone who is even remotely interested--it transcends the superficial topics of WWII, psychology and normal autobiographies.
