I'm F and not too in shape. It was really easy to carry this up 6 flights of city stairs. I liked the purchase!

not heavy at all - I picked it up at the store and didn't even need a cart! The box was a little awkward, that's all!

Don't hesitate, I love it and put it together alone. I don't think it is 25 pounds. That must have been the packaging too :-). However it is not flimsy either. I just posted a review which should be up in a few days. It really is pretty

The box mine came in says GW (Gross Weight) 18.92 lbs, and NW (Net Weight) 15.4 lbs. I'm presuming the NW is the bed and hardware (of which you might not use all if not mounting to a full bed. At any rate, I'm a computer nerd (not a construction worker) with a back that can go out easily and a bad knee that I keep wrapped in an ACE bandage and I had no trouble or worries lifting and moving it around. If fact, if mine wasn't mounted to the wall (the bed is a raised airbed) I would put it on the scale and not worry about the weight being too much for me to do that. As with all lifting always keep your back straight and life with your legs.

I was worried when I saw the big box on my porch, but it was surprisingly light weight, much lighter than I expected. I picked it up and carried upstairs to my guest room. I'm a 5'8" woman of average weight, if that helps at all!

While this product is in the box it's very dense and kinda heavy feeling. Once assembled it's very easy to handle. I installed it alone.

This headboard is a light weight metal.  It is not heavy.  It can be handled by most any average size adult.  I have a couple of these and one in my guest house.  I am 61 year old woman and have had no problems with carrying or moving it during assembly or after assembled.

I would say yes that you need the fame in order for the mattress and box springs to be high enough off the ground

Yes, you could prop it against d wall but it would look a little tall in comparison with the bed due to the lack of bedframe.....but if you have a thick mattress with a pad it would be ok...

It needs to be attached to a metal bed frame. It would be too tall if it was just behind a box spring and mattress. Not to mention that it would probably tip over onto the mattress.

I have it up now while I am waiting for my bed frame to arrive so if you wanted to you can. My box spring & mattress are on the floor.

That's how we did it....looks fine even though it isn't bolted to the bed.

Ive known people to use cinder blocks to sit the headboard in for stability.  The mattresses and pillows tend to hide the blocks.

Well with your dimensions the headboard will extend about 2 - 1/2 inches on each side. The 60" is from the outer edge of the top knob to the outer edge of the opposite top knob. There are adapters and screws included to attach to a full bed's normal frame attachents.

I have it on a full size bed and it's fine. Looking at it, it looks the same width as the bed frame and looks as if it were made for a full size mattress.

This headboard comes with adapter plates. I too have a full size bed and had no problem at all attaching. this headboard will only for work on the bolt on style bed frame.

Yes, you have to use the enclosed brackets to adapt the headboard to a full sixed frams.

I use it on my full size bed. It does stick out a little on each side, but attached just fine with the hardware included. My bedskirt and sheets hide the excess pretty well, I don't mind it.

It should work. There are metal attachments included to make a full frame work. I just put it together for a full bed.

The headboard comes with the set on metal plates that screw onto the headboard attachment place on your frame, and the headboard then attaches to the plates to give it the extra couple inches on each side.

The headboard comes with plates that will allow you to attach the headboard to the narrower frame.

It fits full size frame ,as long as you have the wall space for the 60 inches.when it is attached you have appx. 2inches on both sides of bed

they provide plates to facilitate attachment. the outer rails would probably extend beyond the mattress/frame, so take that in to account if appearance is paramount.
