    Don't Hesitate! Great Utility Cart!

I ordered this cart for my Grandma, and it was absolutely perfect. She wanted a sturdy cart to help her limit trips with her groceries. It was pretty easy to put together, and rolls & folds with ease. I did have to adjust the pins a couple times, as the instructions aren't extremely detailed, but they held up well to extra bending. After considering many products, I was so happy with this purchase. Swiveling wheels were high priority, and they did not disappoint. It is extremely roomy inside the basket, and there is even a hook on the back where you can hang an extra bag. The cushion grip is quite comfortable. I noticed some concerns about how much this item weighs, and it is definitely light enough for one person. I needed something sturdy for my grandma, and this was it. If you think it looks similar to other brands, that's because it is made by a well known company. Don't doubt it because of the Mainstays name.

    Poor axle material

I purchased this cart so that I would have a smaller grocery cart for my use, smaller than a full-size folding cart. This cart is rated at 35bs capacity, however, the rear axle is in no way capable of supporting that much weight, which it must do if you need to raise the front wheels over a bump, or to go up any number of steps. As other reviewers have stated, the rear axle will bend if it is placed under a sufficient load, and I've found that limit to be near 20lbs, more or less, on the rear axle, alone. With three 2Liter bottles of soda (~13 lbs), four 1lb cans of soup, 2 small boxes of cereal (~2.5 lbs), and one loaf of bread (1lb), just pulling the cart up my front steps was sufficient to badly warp the rear axle. This is absolutely due to the rear axle being made of horribly soft metal. The axle is so soft, that I can bend the axle straight, by hand, using no tools whatsoever. I'm no longer a young man, and I'm disabled, so, when I say that the metal of the axle is soft, it's soft. At some point, after bending and being straightened out, the axle will break. I can't predict when it will happen, but it will happen. This is not something that ever should have made it onto the market, at any price. It is just not justifiable, and I am going to try to return it to the store.

    Respect it's limits...

Fantastic!!! It's not a "haul all" but it works great for my flea market trips. No tip over, lightweight & yes, it's durable IF it is assembled per instructions. You must insert ALL carter pins where instructed. Over weight will cause the basket area to sag but the axle will not bend or break. I don't understand how the other people had such problems. It is s simple & inexpensive cart not ment for abusive use. If you respect it's limits it will last indefinitely. I love my little helping hand!!!

    Don't buy a wheel and expect a truck !

I really needed something to help carry stuff for mom and I while my dad is in the hospital. I picked this up as an instant solution. I needed to pack clothes, blankets, pillows, snacks, bottled water and a few other items. I needed to make 2 trips, but it would have been more trips and struggling to carry things for the long walk had I not bought the cart.

    My car!!!

I call it my car. I don't own a car and this makes it so convenient to carry heavy items when on the public transportation system.

Axle broke 25 feet from the store on a LIGHT load

Leave it to me to have it break down 2 minutes AFTER customer service closed for the night, I also missed a bus dragging this infernal thing to the bus stop. The funny thing was that I got this to replace an older one (about three weeks old) where a wheel ate through the cotter pin connection a few minutes before. When a cart's axle can't handle two pillows and a large bag of tortilla chips, I have serious doubts that I can recommend this for a friend. An ENEMY, yes, just not a friend. If I recommend it to a friend, I'd also recommend them going to an iron works to get a new axle made that will actually LAST, even though that might cost more than the cart itself.
I had shoulder surgery and had to go Christmas shopping at the mall. This was PERFECT. It was very easy to push and maneuver. Best idea I had to help me during my recovery during the holidays.

    Greatest cart ever.

Easy to navigate. If you rely on the bus for shopping this is the best one. I have a few pointers. Carry extra cotter pins in case one breaks and your wheel falls off. Before you leave the house, make sure the front wheels are tight, might need a bit of tightening. Above the wheel is a bit unsteady, I suggest you purchase a few hose clamps and screw them on for reinforcement of the area above the wheel.

    Not terrible

I bought this at my local Walmart because this was the only kind they had, with the exception with a single other one that was too small. When I brought it home, I read the reviews of this model and said, "Uh-oh." I only bought this just in case I might need it someday (I'm 49 and not getting any younger) but don't plan to start using it just yet. So I conducted a test by putting a fifty-dollar grocery order filling two shopping-bags in the cart that was pretty heavy to haul home from the bus carrying a bag in each hand. I wheeled the full cart down the length of my apartment hallway and back first on four wheels then on just the two rear wheels. The rear-wheel axle didn't bend, nor did I experience any other adverse event. So I'm guessing this make will serve you well for laundry and groceries if you don't push your luck with too much weight and wheel your stuff around on all four wheels most of the time. Based on the problems some people have said they have with this model, maybe haul any big containers full of fluid in a backpack. And also make sure you follow the assembly directions as carefully as possible. And be careful with those rear wheels when putting the thing together, as they're a bit heavy, so you don't want to drop them on your foot or on something fragile.

    Waste of shmoney

So! I have had this cart for about a month now. I live upstairs, so I make about 2-3 trips to the grocery store a month to get a few items, you know keep it light. At home now, My 1st grocery trip of month, cart was great. On 2nd trip of the month, BOOM, a wheel comes off. So, I did find the lil black piece and put the wheel back on. 3rd grocery trip of the month, the wheel comes off again! At this point, I'm upset. I swear if I still had the wrapping/ or receipt, I would have taken it back. But I don't, so now I'm stuck with this cart. Luckily, I found the lil black piece on my stairs OUTSIDE. Went to the store and got the strongest craziest glue I could find and glued the little piece back on there to hold the wheel on. Hopefully that will work.
