As you can see, it is cat tested and approved. As others have said it is a bit firm. It is comfortable though, I fell asleep on it watching TV. It comes as two pieces, bottom and back, two pillow arms that are held in place by velcro, and legs to screw in. The back has metal slide in brackets and my husband had no problem sliding it into place, screw on the legs, and put the pillow arms in place and you are done. Now if you are short you might need help putting the back on because of reach to hold it and slide the piece in place. It's lightweight I can move it easily. The construction is more like a very padded bench of sorts. The cushions, seat and back, are attached and do not come off at all. If you look at the underside it has a wood frame and the inside support is arched to meet whatever supports the seating area so no spring base or anything like you see in most couches. It is a nice length, my husband is 6 ft and he can stretch out on it comfortably. The seat depth is narrower than most couches I am used to so the only thing I might say is if someone is very large laying down it might not be as spacious. In all though, decent couch for the price and it looks nice too.
