Customer reviews & ratings
This clothes rack is strong and sturdy not like others I've had. It has two bars that are around 32 inches between them both it's 6 feet tall it has extended bars on the outside so you could hang long coats, formal dresses, garment bags. This garment rack would be ideal for extra hanging clothes, guests, parties to hang up peoples coats, and can be taken apart put back together simply it only takes around five minutes. I would recommend this clothes rack to friends.
Sturdy and useful
When I received the box I thought, from the weight, that this would be flimsy, but I was very mistaken. The bars are substantial and it is quite sturdy. I love the two levels which enables me to hang more clothes and the bars on the side slide out quite a bit for hanging longer clothes or to drape wet delicates.. It came with easy to follow directions and I had it put together in about 10 minutes. Since we are in the midst of remodeling, we have not finished our laundry room. We didn't want to hang a clothes line that would be in the way of our storage area, so we were limited to hanging a small rod in an area that isn't as intrusive. This clothes rack is so much more useful because I can hang the wet clothes on the bottom and dry clothes on top doubling the amount of clothes that I can hang. Since it is on wheels, I can move it easily, out of the way when I need to get items off of the shelves. It doesn't flex with the weight of the clothes as I first thought it would and keeps the wet clothes away from the dry clothes. It can be used in a closet for more hanging or looks nice enough to leave out in the room. I am definitely enjoying this addition to my laundry room.
This garment rack was relatively easy to put together. However you will need a rubber mallet in order to get the polls into the right spots. That being said the garment rack is perfect as an addition in our garage for work clothes and shoes. Not to say that it cannot be used inside your home because it is a tractive looking but that was the use I had for it. I like the fact that it has two tears and has a spot for shoes and they can be rolled around wherever it's needed or moved if it is in the way. This would be a great item for a college student in a dorm having have had children away at college I know space and storage is important to them.
Yay! Nice Garment Rack
We live in a small home with little closet space. We do have a workshop, and, in the back, I have set-up a “closet” for a place to put our out-of-season clothing. The MainStays Adjustable 2-Tier Rolling Garment Rack appeared to be the answer to my storage issues. And, I was right. This garment rack is larger than it appeared in the pictures. All the parts came marked with written instructions that came with illustrations. The set-up was not difficult; however, there was a couple of head-scratching moments with a step or two of the instructions but nothing common sense couldn't figure out. Much better instructions than many of DIY assembly projects I've encountered (some of which don't even include instructions). And, no tools required! Just need to use a little effort to make sure rods are inserted firmly. Like I mentioned earlier, this rack really can hold a lot of items. But make sure your items do not weigh more than 46-pounds, per the instructions. It is tiered to hold twice as much as it normally would. Note, that if you have very long shirts or garments, that they may hang over or pool. The top bar extends out if you'd like, and you can hang longer items, such as dresses or slacks that you don't fold over a hanger or it makes a great place to hang purses or bags. Very handy. You can even collapse the top bar if you don't need it or don't have the height in the space you need it. The coasters are surprisingly smooth. They roll across the floor with little effort. Of course, carpet is a little different story. I can move it across the carpet but just not with the same ease. This garment rack is sturdy. You just need to make sure you have all of the parts securely inserted.
Sturdy Garment Rack that's super easy to assemble
My 2 Tier Adjustable Garment Rack came today, and I have to rave about how easy it was to assemble! From unboxing to ready to solve my need for space to hang delicates to dry in my room laundry room, 15 minutes.
The instructions were easy to follow and I liked that there were no tools necessary. To that note it did take a little elbow grease to get the poles fully set but I think most adults could do it without struggle. I really like the locking joints as they make it super sturdy.
Another great feature I like is the adjustable top rod. I use my laundry room for storage needs on and off depending on the season so the adjustable length is great for saving some space when it's not needed and is high enough that I could still places totes beside it waist high if I do need to extend them.
After some not so good experiences with free standing garment racks, I am really glad I took the chance on this, it is 5 stars for sure!
Note - The instructions are in a bag attached to the wheels and joint pieces. I didn't see them at first and though oh great jigsaw puzzle time. Thank goodness that wasn't needed as all the pieces are clearly labeled on the bag they are in.
Very nice rack.
I received the Mainstaysu2122 Adjustable 2-Tier Rolling Garment Rack, Adjustable Design for free from Walmart Spark Reviewer in exchange for an honest review. Very nice rack. It's a decent size, Has an upper and lower bar. The rack was easy to assemble. No tools were needed. It just popped together. It's on wheels, so you can easily move it around. I would certainly recommend this clothes rack.
Hang in there
I received this on Thurs. afternoon and put it together Saturday. All parts are well made except for the plastic base. While putting it together the poles across the bottom had to be tamped in with a mallet because they wouldn't stay in. Then I put in the side posts and they kept falling out. I put in the cross bar but it started to fall over because the depressions in the plastic base didn't seem to work too well. It would've been better if there was some way to screw the side posts and horizontal posts across the bottom into the base or if they used a metal base that was sturdier. I got the top bar on with the extensions for holding clothes on the outside, i.e. suits, dresses, anything that wouldn't fit on the top and bottom bars due to length. The side posts easily twisted while I was working on this. Perhaps I should have tightened the screw-on part first before attaching the top bar. I finally got it all together, tightened the part on the middle bar which made everything sturdier. I went and gathered some clothes. I hung up some clothes on the garment rack. It seemed sturdy. I moved it around and had no problem. I would recommend this to someone who was looking for a clothes rack.
Serves the purpose
I really needed a rack to organize my six year old daughter's room. She has ton of dresses even more costumes. The package was reasonable size and all the parts were clearly marked and packed separately. Assembly took around 20 minutes and it was quite easy to be honest. If I can do it than anyone can do it :) some of the smaller plastic pieces seemed to be very fragile and needed soft hands. Don't try to muscle your way if something is not going according to the directions just take your time and don't rush. The assembly was very easy and the directions were on the point. Once the rack was created completely assembled it was very sturdy and I was able to hang most of the items on it. Wheels though are not really as mobile as they should be. Given that this rack will be permanently sitting in one corner of my daughter's room I'm not worried about the wheels. All in all it's a great product and is very useful. I'm satisfied with it.
Good rack for the money
Let me say up front – after unboxing, do not take the pieces of this rack out of their plastic wrapping until you are in the process of assembling it. The letters printed on the plastic wrapping correspond to those shown in the directions and are used during assembly. Don't expect this rack to be rock solid sturdy and strong but it is better than average for the cost – if you don't overload it. The directions are not the clearest but are sufficient if you follow them closely. The pieces go together well and no tools are required to assemble. It only took about 10 minutes to assemble. It even has wheels that make moving it around super easy. It does take up some room but that is expected if you want it to have any kind of capacity. The top rack rods extend out from each side, but we leave them pulled in close not to risk having too much unsupported weight on each end. One negative is that there is not sufficient space between the top and bottom rods to hang anything but the shortest shirts. The height is adjustable but it only gets shorter, not higher. If desired, you can store boxes, etc. on the bottom supports, but this takes away from the length of clothes (pants, etc) you can hang on the bottom rack. We mainly use it to hang my wife's clothes on to dry after washing (she does not like putting her clothes in the drier). You can also roll it around to wherever you do your ironing, etc. or use it for displaying yard sale items. I have not experienced any tip-over, but I can see where it might if you overloaded it. This is a good rack for the money as long as you keep from overloading it.
