Good fan but has several drawbacks

I recently mounted two in my garage. One had to be immediately returned because it was very "wobbley" (way out of balance). There is no balancing kit supplied, and they are generally not that well balanced and both make "clicking" noises if not perfectly rotating. The unit is only supplied with a hard wired/wall mount multispeed switch. It is large and ugly so I opted for an after market remote control. The units ceiling canopy is too small in diameter to house the remote receiver so I had mount the receiver above the ceiling electrical box. It workes fine, but what a pain to wire it up. Trust me, the fans are noisy! They do move a ton of air which is great in my garage, but the noise of the blades cutting the air is too loud for me to consider using in the house. They do look awesome in my Man Cave, but I think the overall quality is questionable. I purchased mine here in October 2011 for around $45.00 each and that was a good deal, but I do not feel they are worth the almost double $88.00 price tag of today. I visited here today to buy another one as a back up for the future if one were to die, but with the price doubled, forget it! Obviously as I were going to buy a back up that should tell you how I feel about the quality and reliability thus far. They are not worth $88.00 each.

Excellent fan. A bit noisy, but the noise is from the blades moving the air, not the fan motor. I purchased three for my shop, so noise really was not a consideration. The down rod is 1/2 inch, not the standard size that Lowes sells. I made my own down rods to lower the fans out of 1/2 inch black iron pipe, which was great because then i could make them to my own specific length.

    Military Must

This fan is great for outside. It sounds like a helicopter and has five speeds. No sweat for me this summer. It creates a wind tunnel on my screened in porch. Awesome fan
    Its copter time

    These fans blow.....

Air hard!!! I bought two of them and installed them in my shop. I'm thinking about getting 2 more. They are industrial looking and are a nice visual and usual touch to my place

    ceiling fan

    worth every penny , solid

    Great Value

I bought two of these for use in a 30x34 detached 3 bay garage. Overall they were a great addition with simple installation, excellent fit/finish, and of course the value. I would recommend them to anyone for use in a configuration such as I chose. If you are looking for a whisper quite fan for use inside of your home then these are not for you. They do circulate a lot of air but are rather noisy when used on the high setting. For me this was not a problem being in a garage but I don't think I would chose them for a home installation. The speed control boxes that are supplied are rather bulky and hideous so I chose to simply run them from a wall switch instead of using this option.

    Works great

I installed this fan in my great room. The room has a 12' vaulted ceiling. This fan really moves a lot of air. It is quiet and well balanced. It looks really sharp too. (No pun intended.)

    Love the design, but....

On High-Speed, it's very loud! I read a review, before I bought it, that mentioned how loud it was, but didn't think it could be that bad. It is. I thought my ceiling was about to take flight. I bought 3, and luckily, they're going in my place of business that will have loud music, so hopefully the noise will be drowned out...or I'll just have to keep them turned down low.

    Not that noisy

I have high ceilings and it looks perfect on my living room. Nice polished look. I was a little concern when I purchased it because of all the other reviews pointing out the noise that this fan supposedly makes. Personally the noise is minimun. Is the normal noise that any ceiling fan makes when moving air. I am glad that I didn't listen to those reviews. I am extremelly happy with my purchase!

    Big, powerful, and cheap!

Seriously amazing for the money! I'm using this in an average sized bedroom and can feel the wind from every corner. It significantly cools the air down and looks pricier than it is. The temperature here gets up to the triple digits, so a good fan is invaluable. As for the noise, I don't know what the other reviewers are complaining about. It's not annoyingly loud at all, and I'm using it in a small space.
