Money Mizer Mizes (Is That A Word?) My Money

In any case this machine is a great help in counting and sorting our change. Oh yeah, go to those machines in the grocery stores that charge 12% when you could have paid for this machine the firat time you used it if you have a bundle of change. Our first one lasted 8 years so if yours is bad, then you either got a defect or it's how YOU are using it. Patient loading of the hopper is essential and coins may get stuck from time to time, but instead of taking a hammer to it, dislodging them is no problem. Either shake the machine or hold the coins in each wrapper with each finger on one hand and with the other invert the machine and they should fall out. What a time saver from counting the coins going into a wrapper or using one of those 12% money grabbers. We put our wrapped coins in a jar and take it down to the bank when it's difficult to lift and play a game to see who gets closest to the amount deposited. The loser pays for dinner.

About 15 year ago, I started saving change in a huge pretzel jug. Over the years, it got too heavy to move, so I put it in a closet where I could get access to ... yup...add more change. When it got to the point where it would have taken a CRANE to move it, I bought the change machine and took the change, one small amount (about 15 coins at a time) transferring the wrapped coins to a shoe box as I was going. As of the end of the evening, I have a bit over $300 wrapped and about two-thirds of the jar still full. Since it runs on batteries (2 C's ) it doesn't overheat and if you keep to the 15-20 coins at a time, you won't jam it. I LOVE it ... and have already recommended it to my neighbor. By the way, the reason I was saving the change is that TD bank would do all this for me, but they took out their coin sorter/counters about six months ago. I HIGHLY recommend this to you, especially if you've been squirreling away change . Suggestion: Use the machine while you can still lift the container of change. Trust me.
The coin sorter started off well but after slowly dropping in about 35 to 40 coins, it jammed. I was finally able to remove a quarter that was stuck underneath the coin disk but was unable to start the starter again. I returned it an purchased a more expensive one that was much more satisfactory.

    Worth every dime!

Do not waste your time trying to find a BETTER PRICE for this "Coin Miser Sorter" because you will not find it. We looked on EBay, Amazon, internet, etc., and they all wanted twice as much money for it plus shipping! So, we happily ordered and paid for it via Walmart and got it site-to-store FREE delivery and picked it up at the service desk in a few days. We popped two C batteries into it and started dumping handfuls of mixed coins into it and then turned it on. It was amazing! When the coin wrapper is full to capacity the next coin falls into the overflow cup! Then you know it's full! You remove that one wrapper and it's ready for the bank! You can just keep adding coins to the "mouth" at the top and once a week, turn it on to add more to each individual wrapper! Another great thing can order over 120 special wrappers made for this machine for almost nothing and you probably won't live long enough to use them all up! Do NOT try to use any other wrappers as they will totally NOT WORK with this awesome device! We're both mad that we didn't buy this ten years ago! It's not only fun to watch but the time it saves you is wonderful and when you turn the rolls of your coins into the bank, you know they are 100% accurate! We love this little device and will enjoy it for many years to come! September 2014

    Inacurate and slow.coins will jam.

If you at not in the rush and do not have tons of coins to sort - this coin sorter may work for you OK. You have to keep your eye on it all the time because it will fail to sort properly and often smaller size coins will end-up in wrong (larger) tube. If you feed even 10 or less coins at the time - it will jam from time to time. But for under $10 it still better then nothing ...
