Excellent Wireless Mouse for Work
I have a Logitech Performance MX I use at home. I ordered the Marathon for work since Logitech fit my hands well. I like the features and button sets and since the software, called Setpoint, is the same, it was no problem configuring the buttons to my tastes. Good work mouse.

There are two M705 mice versions!
I have a M705 mouse at work that I absolutely love. I've always wanted the same mouse at home, but could not justify it until my current one died. I will stand by the fact that I love my work mouse. So, why am I reviewing this one so low? Simply because it is not the same mouse. If you look for mice on Logitech's website and then pull up the "for business" tab, you will see that there is a blue version of this mouse and a black version of it. Both have THE EXACT SAME MODEL AND PART NUMBER. This would not be too bad if they were the same mouse, but the blue version, which I have at work, has an additional lower thumb button. This is the main reason why I wanted this mouse when I bought it for work years ago. I tried working with Logitech's support to see what I need to do to get the blue version. Their response was that the blue version is an older model and is no longer available...yet they have it on their website. I actually had to send their support screen captures of their own website as they were insisting the blue version is not available. I do not blame Walmart for sending me an incorrect product as there is no way for them to know the difference when the model and part number are identical. Logitech really needed to change the model number so retailers would know that it is a different mouse. Through additional research, I did find that the M720 is very similar to the blue M705 and it has the lower thumb button. So far, it is a comparable replacement. Please note that I had to do this research on my own. Logitech's support made no recommendations. I was debating about changing brands due to the poor support I received, but they do have other companies beat as far as quality/price.

Great mouse; I own four.

I have found this mouse to be reliable, comfortable, and great on batteries. The freewheeling option is indispensable for me, as I often need to scan through long lists of items. It's also a great fit for my hand; I am 6' 2", and have very large hands. It's not an oversized mouse, it just feels right. The extra buttons are a bonus.

nice mouse!

I especially like the button on the side. Holds function without having to keep holding top button down.

Great Mouse

I needed a mouse for father's day and found a great deal on walmart.com, even better price than other electronic websites. Love the amount of buttons and the comfortable shape of the mouse. It was nice enough that I bought two of them, one for my dad and one for me.

Feature rich and totally usable.

This is my first experience with wireless products, and this mouse, also marketed as Marathon Mouse, doesn't disappoint. I thought "hyperscroll" was just another gimmick, but within the first few hours of surfing, I found myself loving it. You press the button behind the scroll wheel and it basically takes off the "brakes." You can spin the wheel down to the bottom of a long page or list without messing with scrollbars. And speaking of scrolling, if you download the software from Logitech, "leaning" on the scroll wheel on one side or the other will scroll a wide page side to side. And two buttons at the top of the thumb curve will page you back or forward. These features I described are good because it keeps you from having to pick up and move the mouse a lot. The reason you don't want to do that is because it's kind of heavy. It's called "marathon" because it will last up to three years on the AA batteries because there are two of them. You can actually take one out because they aren't in a circuit, but then it's not "marathon" anymore; however, the remaining battery can be placed in either spot changing the center of gravity. So it's entirely up to the user as to what they want to do (but I still think it's heavy). I'm definitely happy with the mouse, and the dinky little receiver is great, too. It has a long range and I was able to pair it with the Logitech Wireless Illuminated Keyboard (not available here) using just the one, which frees up a USB port. (Meaning you don't have to get a dedicated combo set.) I have no problems recommending it.

Best Mouse I've ever owned

This mouse lasts forever on normal batteries. It is also pretty tough; I've had it for years, dropped in many times, and it still works like a charm. Hands down the best mouse I've ever owned. Combine that with the teeny tiny USB attachment which can also interface with other Logitech junk and this is a winner. Strongly recommend for everyone.

Good Value, but not as nice as older Logitech

This mouse works well but it feels a bit cheaper materials compared to the 4yr old Logitech mouse it replaced and is a bit too large for my taste. This also takes larger (heavier) AA rather than AAA batteries. My old Logitech mouse had an issue, where after a couple years of use, single clicks would be recognized as double clicks. Was replaced free under warranty once, but it happened again to the replacement. If you don't mind the huge size, and possibility of it needing to be replaced for free during the warranty, then this is a great mouse and the price is reasonable. I had paid nearly double the price for the old Logitech mouse, and gladly would have done so again if Logitech made a better one. I also noticed that Logitech mice are relatively noisy when you 'click', whereas some competitor mice are generally silent when you click -- not a major issue for me.

Better than expected

I bought this as a replacement for the premature failure of my M310 mouse by Logitech. It only lasted 3 months. So far, the Marathon seems comfortable and feature packed. I like the idea that the wheel has no detent so you can skim through a page much faster and with fewer strokes. Seems more sensitive than previous models I have used. The rubberized sides has a good feel to it and the contours fit my hand well. I also like the fact that, with the downloadable software, it will pair with original Logitech wireless Desktop as a direct replacement. I hope it lasts longer than the last one...

Product fine, Walmart online may need work

I've continually bought the cheapest (under $10) mice that give up the ghost quickly or don't even work well from the start. I decided to chuck a little more $$ into one and bought this one. It seems to work very well, and has some programmable buttons which I may use at some point. They promise a very long battery life which I can't yet confirm - but hope they're right.

Marathon Mouse

I have used only a Logitech mouse for years, always excellent. However, the Marathon Mouse needs improvement in the Wheel mechanism as it is not 'touch' friendly, takes a lot of getting use to when scrolling, is not sensitive enough. I've had it several weeks now and I am getting used to the wheel more but would not buy this same model again.
