I came across this great little keyboard while browsing through my local Super Walmart for under $20. I was shocked at the incredible price for a wireless keyboard that was also from the venerable Logitech. The next day, after checking online here, I found it was even cheaper through the site ($4 off @ $15.99)! So, I ordered one and picked it up the same day!
I wanted to use it as a replacement for an ergonomic, wired desktop keyboard that was taking up a ton of space on my small coffee table. I just use it send messages in-game for Gears of War 4, since I don't like using my headset, and people could just mute you anyways.
The in-game text chat can be seen globally (entire lobby) or just to your own team, which I use the most to tell slackers to contribute, esp. when we're getting our butts handed to us.
It took a while to get the Xbox One to recognize it. There's various instructions online, but I think I finally got it working correctly after:
1) With system OFF, plug in Logitech Unifying Adapter, preferably away from any USB-connected external hard drives. Apparently, they cause interference. So I had to switch from the back USB ports to the front port.
2) Turn Keyboard ON *before* turning on XB1. Not sure if this is necessary, but I figure it establishes the connection to the receiver before booting up.
3) HARD RESET the XB1. Press the Power button on the front for 10 sec. until the power brick LED turns from white to orange.
4) Turn ON the XB1. Once it's on the home screen, try navigating with the arrow keys. If it works, then you're good to go!
It took a few power cycles for it to finally work, after I discovered the interference with the external HDD. But now I'm set to chat, and with a lot more real estate on my coffee table! I'm also planning on leaving it ON permanently, as I've heard it actually will last at least 3 years on a set of standard AA's!
