This was a gift for a great niece that lives away. I was glad to be able to mail this to her for her birthday. She enjoyed helping the process come along to bring about a new furry friend. It looks scruffy (like some pound animals do) but with the child washing and fluffing them up they get new life. . . like a pound animal

So cute my daughters lived them for christmas
labor of love!
cute idea, not for people who complain about lack of instant gratification. it was a definite labor of love and took a couple of different methods to get fluffy. used a fine toothcomb instead of the brush supplied. I like the concept, I like that it supports the aspca. people need to learn patience; ours is fluffy and cute!
Fantastic concept and adorable toy.
So cute. I love that part of the proceeds go to the ASPCA and I love that this toy taught my daughter about rescuing abandoned animals who need TLC. She wanted the pink cat and we lucked out! The little pink ball opened up to a kitty in the water. We scrubbed and rinsed it several times. First with dove soap, then with some dish soap. We towel dried her then used the hair dryer. We brushed her with the brush she came with. We really spent a lot of time on her. She came out pretty cute and my daughter feels a real sense of responsibility to continue taking care of her rescued friend.
Tested First Then Bought Another
I got one to test out before I bought it as a Christmas gift. My son is a little over a year old anf loves cats. So I got a pink one for the test. There's no guarantee that what you get is what you wanted. So I washed it up with a tiny travel baby shampoo that we never use, used a tiny spritz of fabric softener, dried it off a bit by hand and by setting it on a window sill (don't have a hair dryer) and combed it thoroughly even when damp. Like all things sometimes a little bit of patience helps. So after it fully dried I combed it once again and it gave it a little floof. I showed the whole process to my son and he was very pleased with it. If he's happy, I'm happy. I think it's cute even with the lil snarls and curls in it. Reminds me of a curly haired cat. My son and I named it Smol Floof. So I bought him a blue one for Christmas and can't wait to do it with him again.
Drying time too long
I though this was super cute toy based on the packaging. I liked the interactive and surprise concepts. Upon opening the package I see a matted ball of fur. My kids thought it looked creepy. It was rough feeling but has no scent. I rinsed the toy out under running water until it felt softer all over. I squeezed out the excess water then starting drying with a blow dryer. After 15 minutes it was still very wet. I would suggest setting outside on a hot day, but unfortunately it's raining here all day so I didn't have that option to try it. I'm just letting it sit in the bathroom out of reach from my younger children so it can continue drying as I don't have the patience or time to sit and hold a blow dryer any longer. The dog was not even really that cute after partially dried and fluffed. I'm hoping it will look fluffier after fully dried. As of now I'm not impressed. It's going to go to my three year old so I'm hoping she likes it. It's a great travel size. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Quality is not great
It gave my daughter nightmares
My daughter was totally disappointed with this product. She did what she was supposed to with it. The dog/bunny (can't really tell what it is) looks so bad.My daughter obviously can't sleep with it like she intended to. She's too afraid it gives hernightmares. I wouldnt even give this piece of junk one star but it won't let me give none.
Scary. Not as cute as picture.
Too small and it's priced way too high
