I've never used a walnut clumping litter so I thought I'd give this a try. With clay litter, you constantly get little clay pieces all over the floor. This walnut litter doesn't seem to track nearly as much. I wasn't sure my cat would adjust quickly to this litter because the granules are finer than clay but she seems to really like it. The directions say to use 3-4 inches of this clumping litter but I only use 2 inches because cats do not like to sink into litter (which will contribute to cats using other places to urinate). I like that this litter has no strong odors and the crushed walnut shells are quite fine which is easier on my cats paws! It clumps really well and was a breeze to clean out the litter box! I'm definitely going to continue to use this litter. By the way, it was much less expensive than the brands I was using previously. I highly recommend this litter!

NATURAL NUTTY CAT LITTER
WHAT I LIKED ABOUT LITTER MAID PREMIUM WALNUT LITTER. WAS THAT IT IS MADE FROM NATURE'S OWN WALNUT SHELLS. IT HAS A NICE FRAGRANCE. LIKE A WALNUT SHELLS. IT IS MADE OF ALL NATURAL MATERIALS. IT CLEANS UP GREAT . IT HAS GREAT CLUMPING FOR EASIER CLEAN-UPS. THE NUT SHELLS HELP NEUTRALIZES THE LITTER BOX SMELLS.- MOST IMPORTANT IT IS SAFE FOR PETS. THE ONLY BAD THING ABOUT IT IS. I HAVE A CAT THAT LOVES TO THROW THE LITTER OUT SOME. IT IS LIKE SAND ON THE FLOOR.
I use it for bird cage bedding
Absolutely happy with this LitterMaid 9lb Premium Walnut Clumping Litter!!! Though I do use it for more unconventional methods than actually using it for cat litter. Actually I own an African Grey Parrot and for a long time now we have realized that walnut shavings work great for her cage... Usually we get them from our pet shop but sometimes they are out and when they are I did not know what to do. This cat litter solved my problem instantly! Its practically the same thing, fine round pellets of ground up walnut shells... This is easily spread over the bottom pan of her cage and when she goes to the bathroom the litter clumps nicely. I then use a fine holed plastic sieve to sieve through the soiled litter removing the waste and keeping the litter that is still fine. The litter is small enough that it just goes right through so we can continue to use that for a longer time instead of changing out the walnut shells completely each time. Makes cleaning the cage a breeze! And, the cool thing about this smaller bag (our normal ones are quite large) is that I do not have to find somewhere to put it, it just sits nicely under the cage out of the way on the shelf, because its small enough to do so. Very convenient. I probably wont use this ALL the time seeing as how my large bulk bags are more economical, however when they are out at my local pet shop and I have to wait for their order to come in and I have need for this instantly this is a good substitute for that. Great product!
Excellent cat litter!
My kitty recently had surgery, and the vet recommended a cleaner litter for her while she recovered. I tried this natural walnut clumping litter as it is low dust. I'm really glad I did!
This litter has good odor control and clumps quickly. It does not track out of the box or stick to paws like other litters we have tried, and I definitely appreciate having less mess to clean. I like that there is little dust to breath in with this litter.
This litter keeps the smell of cat urine and feces down to a minimum. I have not noticed any odors at all with this litter. I'm very pleased.
My cat also seems happier with this litter than she has been with any other.
Definitely worth a try.
It's nice that there are so many choices of cat litter to choose from except when you find one you like and then they come up with a new one. It used to be clay and now you have the choice of paper, corn, wheat, sawdust, citrus and walnut. The Littermaid Premium Walnut litter is made from the shells and not the nuts, but there is a chance of nut pieces for those of you who have nut allergies. Littermaid Premium Walnut litter is great for kittens, because they are likely to sample most litters when they are young. Most litters have some dust and will be tracked around the house but I didn't notice any dust with the Littermaid Premium Walnut litter, and like most litters I did notice some granules tracked around the house. The Littermaid clumps great and as long as you stay on top of removing the clumps daily and replacing it with fresh litter it will last longer. The Littermaid Premium Walnut litter works great in the odor control area, it has a natural smell that I didn't mind at all. The Littermaid Premium Walnut litter runs about a dollar a pound which isn't bad when you consider all of the benefits.
