I found the router very usefull. All features on router where pretty straight forward . The average would likely have no problem setting it up. Only problem I could see is to name each wireless network differently,if not, will cause conflicts? Other than that it was a great router [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Kept getting disconnected from the 'net!!! DUD
'net connection kept droppin' off! DO NOT BUY THIS UNIT if you plan on steaming of any nature! I thought I was buying a top of the line residential router that would be more than sufficient for utilizing Hulu's TV Package so I could "cut the cord" with cable/Spectrum. Everything you read about this AC2200 tri-band router says "Buy Me". I did. Returned it after 2 days as the Hulu programs I was watching kept gettin' the boot. I don't have to tell you the wife wasn't happy. Neither was I. When on our laptops, occasionally it would say "not connected" and shortly thereafter we'd be back on. OK, not too bad but, when you're watchin' a movie or program and you get booted 2 or 3 times an hour...UNACCEPTABLE. If the orange "earth/internet" symbol comes on (this light is located above the white LINKSYS logo on the top of the unit) you ARE NOT on-line! I will conclude this review by saying, do a search on the 'net for "what does the orange net lite on the top of linksys ac2200 mean?" Read some of this questions/answers and consider yourself advised. You may be lucky with one...I wasn't. I returned it and bought a Netgear AC1750, only a dual band but, more than sufficient.

Solved my router problems

Easy to set up. I had no problems and I am NOT techie at all. I did go in and change my password so that all my devices hooked up with the new router and that was really no problem. The online instructions are easy to follow even for an almost Luddite

A More Secure Router & Great Value From Sams

Had shopped around and decided on this unit. I needed a router where the firm ware could be updated. Then found Sam's offered it for less. A Win Win!

Works great!

I have had this router for about 3 weeks now and it works great. Great coverage and speed. Also very easy to set up. The LINKSYS Smart Wi-Fi software makes managing your network very easy. Looks good too. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Exceptional Speed, Range, and Signal Penetration

Cable Internet (100Mbps) just became available, leaving 3 Mbps DSL behind. The new EA8300 provides solid performance throughout the 3-level, 3700SF home. I anticipated having to buy the RE7000 extender, but the EA8300 does a fantastic job inside and out.....no extender required.

This router is TOPS

This router is working great so far and meeting all the needs that I have; and better than the still working E3000 that it replaced. The range is excellent on both bands and handles all devices with no lag or drops experienced thus far. The 2.4 GHz and 5GHz bands do great considering the differences in their band capabilities. I am using a smart TV, 2 computers (1 AC capable) and 2 cell phones; Great performance. Also, Linksys did not supply me a free router as some have had !!!

Great upgrade!

Moved to a new home and my previous router, an EA2700, was covering my home. The EA8300 now covers my home giving us close to full reception and speed everywhere in our home, very pleased! I renamed the wifi and changed the password to match the previous router, and we didn't need to reconnect any of our devices, that just connected immediately!!

Hi, Ikeyboy, Having separate names SSID for each frequency band helps you control which devices use 2.4 GHz and which use 5G Hz to avoid possible overcrowding. Also, this would help if you are trying to perform wireless performance testing or site surveys where you explicitly need to control the band under test. Much faster than the older Linksys EA3500

The previous EA3500 stopped working...? WIFI was slow and inconsistent and down streaming on Demand would not work with nearly 100mbps cable speed...until installation of the EA8300/AC2200! Installation was relatively easy, and once the wifi printer was reconfigured from the old Router to the new one...life was restored again, to a better, faster, seamless level with no buffering! It is been about a month and no issues yet. Signal strength on the other end of the house has increased as well. Overall very pleased.

constant WiFi cut outs

When it works it is powerful. But the WiFi cuts out contantly. If you could update the software. It would be an excellent router.

Hi, Andy, What you have experienced is unusual as the router is expected to provide a stable and reliable connection once it's set up. We can try changing the wireless channel on both networks to help improve its performance. Our Escalation Engineers are eager to closely work with you so that they can further check what have caused this behavior to happen. Please email us your contact information at LinksysCares@linksys.com and they'll contact you as soon as possible. Our team would like to make sure that the product will work at its best.
