We LOVE having it in our group Activities Barn

We have a family ranch that is used by a number of youth groups and for reunions. As soon as this was assembled by our two sons (future engineers--one in high school, one in college) it became a popular item. Assembly was complicated and took the two of them several hours--but the end product was worth the effort! (I suggest planning accordingly.) The kids (and adults) loved the quick adjust back board--they could dunk the ball with just a few seconds of effort to lower the back board. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

    Awesome customer service

I bought this basketball goal for our kids for Christmas. With weather being crazy cold and wet it took a few weeks to start to install. I got the whole dug and post in ground. Instructions said to set 3-4 days so that’s what we did. Day 3 I forgot the pole was there and drove over the pole damaging my Tahoe and ruining the pole.:( Kids were devesated and I was upset. I decided to email Lifetime customer service to order replacement, was hoping there was such a thing. Anyway I emailed and got the best news and response ever. I shared my post on social media and hope everyone buys a product from this company. Not only did they have a replacement they are sending it free of charge. I was beyond ecstatic. Thank you so much. We can’t wait to play basketball as a family. As for putting it together I did most of the install by myself it wasn’t too hard just needed a little more strength in tightening nuts and bolts which my husband helped when he got home. The instructions are easy to follow. (Once again Thank you Randy Customer Service Lifetime Products, Inc)

Very good portalbe hoop for young children.

Very good portalbe basketball hoop for young children and early teens. My kids greatly enjoyed it with their friends. We got it for 2 weeks now. It's not that hard to assemble, but it will take at about 2-3 hours to put everything together. For the most part, it can be done by just one person, but when putting the back board together with the post you will need help. One advice: have at least 6 bags of sands ready before standing up the hoop. It may be a bit heavy for one person to move it around. I think the back board should have some pre-drilled holes for the plastic guards. This should be done at the manufacturer. One of the reason I bought this unit because it's made in USA. It should be well made compared to those produced oversea.

Lifetime 54" Basketball System Model 71524

Reviews of other company's systems indicated that they were delivered with many missing parts and also that their assembly was quite difficult due to poor parts labeling and minimal instructions. When I checked Walmart's Lifetime model ordering page they had a link right there to the parts description and assembly instruction manual, so I could print it out and know exactly what to expect when the package arrived. There appeared to be a few missing parts, but after a call to Lifetime's customer service I discovered that one unit of the assembly had been altered so as to not need those parts. Customer service then emailed to me the instruction manual revision so that I could see what the change had been. The assembly does take two people a few hours to do, but it was all straight forward and the parts all fit together well. The ordering list says that a pole pad is not included, but one was shipped in the box, so I guess they have upgraded to include it. They should mention this so you don't order another one that you don't need. The price was higher than some other systems I looked at, but it was well worth the extra cost considering the assembly instructions and the high quality of the system. Walmart shipped the 100 lb+ package for free and it was delivered safely and on time.

    If Ikea made basketball goals...

If you can assemble an Ikea kitchen, bedroom set, and dining room without going crazy, this basketball goal should be a snap for you. Don't get me wrong, this is a nice goal. The only reason I deducted a star was the difficulty with construction. Even though it's not on the picture the pole pad was included.
