501 shrink to fit
this is my first pair of 501's, and man they fit perfect!!! these are thick heavy material compare to all my other jeans. im a big guy that usually wear urban jeans such as rocawear, coogi, ecko because they are the only one that get close to the look and comfort i like. but thats over now nothing but levis for me. they look good with any shoe i wear!!! so to all the big guys who are size 46 and up give these a try u wont be disappointed. im 6'3" 290 lbs and wear 48x34
501 + Stretch = Perfect Concept
I have not purchased a pair of 501's in over 25 years it all changed with my first pair of 501's Stretch Jeans. I am truly back to loving my favorite brand of jeans thanks to the development of the Levi's 501's Original Fit Stretch Jeans. Now if Levi's would make the 501's Original Fit Stretch in both Black and White I would be on cloud nine.
I'm not sure, but I think the only way to get a reliable fit from Levi is to buy directly from them. Other outlets have different suppliers (Egypt, Mexico, etc.) and the fit is always unreliable. Out of 4 pair purchased, 2 might fit properly - I was ready to give up but (out of desperation) recently purchased a pair from Levi.com. They fit perfectly. I will buy another pair tomorrow and hope I have the same experience. I've been wearing Levi's for sixty years - would like to keep doing so . . .
Die hard Jean user
I have Worn 501's for over 40 years.and always the button fly, However it seems over the last 5 years that the material has got you thinner And you seem to be charging more for an extra 3" In Length in my opinion. I think you should improve the quality of the material to get the the price you are asking. Just saying
The only jeans my husband ever wears, ever. Levi's 501 shrink to fit, size 42x36. His only brand for 50 years, he tried Wrangler but after one wearing he never put the Wranglers on again. Levi 501 have become a rarity, nobody carries his size so we have to order them. As far as quality, not like they used to be. Years ago if you tried to wear them before washing them good luck bending your knees. The material used to be of thicker weight and a lot more durable. For those of you who complained about the texture, stiffness and fit, that's the way they're supposed to be. Size? Shrink to Fit, get it?
Retro Wins Again
I'm a woman who's gotten tired of I'll-fitting jeans and jeans that have spandex or elastic. Tired of trying to fit my maternal, middle-aged body into pre-teen cut, too too low cut jeans. I ordered 2 pairs different sizes, since women sizes are not available. I had fun soaking in tube of warm water. Took off, placed in old navy towel to remove excess water and hung to dry. One pair is big and like boyfriend style, the other more fitted. I've gotten compliments galore. I love the comfort of 501 Levi's and being to order jeans that were made to fit ME, not miny me.
Not quite the same as I remember 30 years ago
I wore Levis 501 religiously from the late 50's thru the mid 80's and the fabric seemed a lot heavier. My ex wife sold all my Levis jackets and jeans(key word ex). I would like to get a shrink to fit but can never find the big enough size as my ultimate fit is 40X36. The original fit is fine but just seems a bit thin.
I think we've I should go back to the original quality and to the original 501 that it was back in the eighties quality is is gone downhill
Back when I wore 501 shrink to fit button flies back in the eighties back when I was in high school and even Junior High you know the qually's not there as it is today materials thinner the buttons are smaller the buttons are grey instead of silver like they were back in the day pockets are Cuts Square they're not deep like the regular traditional cut pocket I'd be willing to pay the extra money to have the original. The original original from back you know seventies and eighties quality Taylor ship the engineering that went into the Levi Strauss button fly 501 there was a better quality to fit was better and I guess just happy with the old school style and would be willing to pay for the thicker gauge Levi you know and it was brown stitching you know and they're just different now days I don't feel that the quality is quite there the way it used to be you know so to speak and yesteryear I wish levi-strauss would go back to the original it says Levi Strauss Originals there original let's keep the original you know there's no substitute for quality you know a little bit more get a better product
